Where was this photo taken? (filming "The Way")

Hi there, this is Rodrigo here, back on the block. Those vineyard scenes, and by the way, no serious caminante walks through vineyards, were filmed right in front of the lovely village of Briñas on on a very sharp bend of the Ebro river just a few kilometers away from Haro, the provincial...

Hi Bert, glad you made it back alive :) !!! The church you're still trying to locate is most likely in the realms of the mystically devine :-D LOL !!! Cheers to you. Be patient, I'm sure someone will find it, maybe it will be me when I drive through that region one day, per accident. But it...

It's just fun, and a keen interest in landscapes. I've never done the "Camino" and don't really intend to walk a trail with thousands of "caminantes". I prefer hiking trails where I'm by myself. I prefer the road least traveled :) ! I live here and when I'm in a town on the Camino, I sometimes...

I'll be there on the weekend and will be able to confirm if this was a photoshopped scene or not. Like I said, the different elements do exist, but not necessarily in this context. I will take photos.

    Locations used in "The Way"

Yes Yes, the landscape in the movie seems to have been digitally concocted using real elements from different locations. Those big mountains do exist and they form part of the Sierra de Codes. The two most visible peaks are the Yoar or Joar on the left depending on whether you're writing...

Should be per voluntary donation according to ability if these were legitimate houses of "God".

Thx Bert, got it. Yes, I felt something had not been understood :-) Different people perceive space and locations in different ways. It's normal. I was once driving with my wife and was using normal paper maps for orientation. She asked me, "how do you do that, can you teach me" :-D LOL!!! Whole...

Pilgrims And Tourists to PAY, Except to Pray, to visit the Cathedral in Lugo

Hi there lizlane, this is a very sad development of churches here in Spain. I live here in Rioja Alta, which is where Santo Domingo de la Calzada is located. I moved to La Rioja just a few years ago, but I first came here in May/June of 1994 to celebrate "San Juan del Monte" in Miranda de Ebro...

Hi there Saint Mike, the scene where Tom is arrested is CVNE winery in Haro; the scene where he is released out onto the street where Jack says "you can thank my credit card" is on Rua Vieja in front of the Police Station in Logroño. When Tom gets arrested they're inside the CVNE winery patio...

Hi there. I live in La Rioja and go twice a month shopping in Logroño. In fact, I was once there at the "Policía Local" of Logroño and believe me, it's the HQs of the Policía Local in Logroño on the street called Rua Vieja which means "old street".

(Updated 29 June 2019) The Way: Additional recognized locations some of which might be redundant. I’m not a “caminante” of the Camino but as I live near the camino along the banks of the Upper Ebro River, I thought I might add some notes. I’m referring to the time counter on the movie “The Way”...

The left turn is not bogus because there is an albergue there, so they are going into their hostal. In fact, there are 2 right at that corner, but it seems they go into the first one.

I live in the area and I can confirm that this photo was indeed taken in Logroño. It's the HQs of the Policía Local (local city cops) on a street called Rua Vieja which is perhaps the oldest street in the old town of Logroño, capital of La Rioja. In fact, this street was once a part of a...
