    Camino - Pilgerweg: Loccum-Volkenroda

For anyone interested, I just completed one stage of the relatively new Loccum-Volkenroda pilgrimage route in central Germany. It's beautiful & well-marked. Getting to be in Kloster Volkenroda with the Christus Pavillon is well worth it...

    Albergue in Villavieja

Thank you - I did just manage some of a new pilgrimage in Germany - Loccum-Volkenroda. Will add it to the other forum sections. Buen Camino todos.

    Albergue in Villavieja

Well, apologies that I won't be able to give on site info on Villavieja. Due to airline issues today I never even made it to Spain & have had to cancel my plan. Another year, another plan I guess. I hope the next person will have more success in getting there. Buen camino all.

    Albergue in Villavieja

I went back to check what been written on Gronze & the last pilgrim tried to stay there on th 5 Aug. & was told, as you say, that it was closed due to the water issue. They then found everything closed in Borrenes also. Not sure about all of this especially as it will be quite late in the day if...

    Albergue in Villavieja

Confusion reigns. Well, Laurie, what can I say?! I guess I'll be there for 4pm & if nothing happens I'll have to keep going. First test of pilgrimage - to trust in provision when needed. Hadn't thought I'd hit that quite so early on mind you. I'll let you know what happens. Fiona

    Albergue in Villavieja

Actually, I've just noticed the 687-80-12-64 no. has popped up on my Whatsapp list, so must be a mobile & maybe anyone having difficulty calling can try getting them that way.

    Albergue in Villavieja

Sounds good, Laurie. I should be there next Monday, all being well, & can send a report from on site! When I first called the couple running it, the line was very bad & they were good enough to call me back later, which was very thoughtful. Bodes well.

    Camino Cross-stitch designs anyone?

Love these! I've packed a blank piece to stitch during down times as I walk but hadn't realised there were some patterns already.

    Albergue in Villavieja

Quick update - I used the landline that @peregrina2000 noted and spoke to Monch (a man) who was very accommodating and will open the albergue for me at the start of September. So that last number definitely works. My one question on this is - he can't be there until between 4-5pm - those of...

    Albergue in Villavieja

Hi, just to continue with the Villavieja saga. I tried that cell number because I hope to be there next Monday but the cell doesn't work so I'd ignore that one! I have also tried the landline number but it was very broken up and we had some difficulty trying to understand each other and agreed...

    Sellos on the Invierno

Really the book of the walking wounded!

    Sellos on the Invierno

Thanks for all the advice. So, if I understand correctly, when I pass through one of the towns more frequently mentioned on the stages I should just ask where or if I can get a sello, if places are open. Thank you.

    Sellos on the Invierno

Hi, I've seen several places mention the need for 2 sellos as you go along in the last 100 kms of the Camino. Can anyone advise me if this means two different places per town or one from at least two different towns per day? Thank you!

Opinions on Anaya Cuaderno del Peregrino guide and 'Moleskine' type notebook

I was given a book voucher recently & treated myself to a Moleskin journal for the Camino. Love using it.

    Celtic Camino

Should have mentioned the Camino de Santiago is included in it.

For those who can access the BBC sound sites, here's a programme on pilgrimage & St Kevin's Way, Co. Wicklow: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/w3csz572

    Celtic Camino

Presuming that applies if your Camino in Spain is under the 100km?

    Celtic Camino

Everything has taken longer because I walked with a friend up to Dun Laoghaire & chat made me forget to watch directions! So I can't reach St James for the stamp before closure. Will get to Christchurch & have to retrace last bit presumably if I want the final stage stamp, etc.

    Celtic Camino

Gorgeous day for a Celtic Camino! Sun & soft winds.

    Celtic Camino

Don't worry, we're now back to soft & persistant normal rain. It'll make going back to work easier. I didn't think to check but I'll head off anyway as I don't really need the stamps as part of my main Camino planning. More of a dry run. I've planned on an 8am start to leave time.
