We have had a wonderful day in Santiago. The weather is good, the town is full of life. It is so nice to meet again pilgrims we saw earlier. But the best experience was the Anglican service held in the parador. A small congregation from four nationalities. And such a blessing to receive...
We have now been walking Camino Primitivo and will soon end in Lugo. From there we will go by bus to Santiago, since we have walked Camino Frances earlier. Of course we have collected many nice sellos and it would nice to have the last sello from the pilgrims office in Santiago. Is that possible...
We are now in Oviedo, and will start walking Camino Primitivo on Saturday. Tomorrow, the 14th, we want to attend a special service in the cathedral where they will show the ancient Sudarium. Services are held on 9.30 and 12, but nobody can tell us in what service they are going to show the...
It is nearly two weeks since I came home after having walked Camino Ingles, alone. Last year when I thought about walking alone I was very much afraid that I would be lonely since I am a rather introvert person. But now I have done it and I was not lonely! I was alone but not lonely. I chose to...
I arrived in Santiago last Wednesday after having walked Camino Ingles and spent Thursday in town. It was a nice day, but also a little sad - will this be the last time in Santiago?
After a good breakfast in The Hospederia I thought I was smart and went down to the Pilgrim's office at 8.15 to...
I finally fought back my fear and anxiety of walking alone:-) So now I have had my first day walking Camino Ingles, staying in Neda for the night. Nice weather and all is well. Thank you all for support! Now I am going to celebrate my birthday with a good dinner
I am now doing the last planning for my Camino Ingles in September. Today I wanted to book a room in Santiago when I am finished walking. I would like to stay at HS Martin Pinario and sent them a mail and asked for a pilgrim's room. The answer was negative as I in fact expected, I know I am too...
Today I have booked air plane tickets to Madrid, train ticket to Santiago and a room at HS Martin Pinario. Then I will take the bus to Ferrol and start walking Camino Ingles for the third time. But this time I will walk alone, for the first time. I am excited and scared!
Last September I walked Camino Ingles. I arrived in Madrid and planned to go by bus to Ferrol, leaving Barajas at 23.59. I had problem finding the website for this bus and had to ask here. Now I have the same problem, I can't find the schedule for this bus! I have tried Alsa and Movelia, but...
A friend of mine has walked part of Camino Frances, and of course he observed the cyclists. And now he wonders: What about an electrical bicycle? Will using it qualify for a compostela for cyclists?
Ps: I am not sure if his question is seriously meant..
Yesterday I arrived in Santiago after walking CI in 9 (! ) days. But I would like to tell about the wonderful experience I had in the Pilgrims office. I was warmly greeted by an elderly lady. After we had done with the "formal" things, I told her that my husband died last year and could she...
In September I intend to walk Camino Ingles. My plane will arrive in Madrid about 22.30 so I thought a night bus to Ferrol would be nice. Somewhere I found a bus leaving from the airport around midnight, but now I can't find the site. I find a bus leaving Estacion de sur 00.30. Could it be the...
Or will I be too lonely?
As many others I have a strong longing to walk a Camino again! Two years ago I walked the Camino Ingles together with friends and I loved this Camino. But as you all know when in a group one has to adapt and not only do what one likes oneself. So I would very much like...
Hopefully we will arrive in Santiago June 1. Does one go to the Pilgrims Office and register even if one knows one will not get the Compostela?
Leaving home today - Oslo, Bilbao, Burgos. First walking Burgos - Covarrubias : Camino de San Olav, then train to Ferrol and walking Camino Ingles!
In the end of May I will be walking Camino Ingles in a small group. We have made reservations since we are a group, and now there is only Sigueiro left. I find there is a Hostal Miras there, but it seems impossible to book online. I have a telephone number, but since my Spanish is very limited...
I will walk Camino Ingles in the end of May this year. Looking so much forward to it! Because of my age (71) and my not so good ankles I want to use transportation for my mochila. I think I have read somewhere that it is now possible also on the Camino Ingles. Can someone verify this?
Tulle
This camino is not in Norway, but it is from Burgos to Covarrubias, only 60 km long. In Covarrubias a Norwegian princess is buried, and there is a San Olav's Chapel. Does anyone here know something about this camino? Is it well marked? Are there albergues or hostales?
