    CF in 2023 versus 2021

Hello! Advice please. I walked 10 days on the CF in 2021, and plan to walk again this summer. Please let me know how different you think the CF will be. In 2021 none of the municipal or religious albergues were open. I stayed in individual rooms in a variety of accomodations, and I'd like to...

    Brands of tea in Spain

Completely agree. And PH tips is fine. I think Twinings eng breakfast is awful though, though their darjeeling isn’t bad- so Twinings is a partial exception to the British/Irish rule. And of course for loose teas, China and India rule.

LIVE from the Camino Ethics Question -- to walk or not to walk?

And powder your feet every day before you put socks on. I liked the toe socks as an inner layer, wool socks as outerlayer— but the powdering helped most.

    Zabaldika

When I walked this part of the camino last August, the church and the village were all closed. Not a (non-pilgrim) person in sight. I had lunch on the grass outside of the church, though, talking to 2 other pilgrims and enjoying the view. Even seeing the entryway of the church was good.

Where to Find Walking Sticks in SJPP for the Frances Route

I bought one in Roncevalles. But it was much heavier than my trekking poles. After 2 days I developed huge bruises on my right arm on the bicep. I couldn’t understand it as i was having no problems with my pack. By day 4 the bruise was worse and I realized it was the walking stick, so I switched...

Women's Gregory Jade 28 pack -what do you think?

I got the 38 and walked 10 days with it on the Frances this summer. It was perfect. Loved it all. and having the red color was good - adds visibility when you're walking along aa road.

A note on reserving beds and the spirit of the Camino

Wow we all have something to say about this. I just walked 10 days, for my first Camino of what i hope will be many, on the CF. I had somewhat reluctantly reserved a month in advance as i was come from the US and wanted to make sure places were open. I found that having done all the planning in...

    Cash or cards?

I just spent 10 days on the frances and found cards accepted everywhere i wanted to pay with a card- in other words, I didn’t try to pay for breakfast with a card, but bigger meals and overnight stays all accepted my chipped card

Arriving Madrid Airport Sept 2021. Queue delays??

I flew in from the US on July 28 and it all went quickly . Should be even faster for Europeans, you might think.

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Covid testing at Madrid airport

Thank you for this info. How much did they charge? Were you doing this for re entry into the US?

Active thief on the Camino Frances, July 2021

It seems to me you are convicting a "young black man" who is "very easy to recognize" (based on his blackness and youth alone, I gather?) of thievery, without benefit of trial, based only on his appearance. Do you have confirmed evidence of his guilt? As you give no identifying information...
