I walked with an osprey aura first Camino. Too heavy for me. I switched to osprey eja, light weight. It made all the difference for me. The Norte is quite hilly so as little weight as possible is my mantra.
I write my message on Google translate and cut and paste the message. If they respond in Spanish, I cut and paste it into Google translate and read it. It feels respectful, takes 30 seconds.

I would seriously consider starting in Pamplona. There are a lot more options after Pamplona if you are willing to go off Brierly stages and look at all options, casa rural, pensions etc.
Maybe there are other places open for breakfast can’t remember, but for me, I wish I’d had more and had snacks with me as there was little on the trail that day.
I’d take breakfast for sure because there is little food to Zuburi. I remember being so hungry and needing food. There are other restaurants for dinner in Roncesvalles.
