Hi @Alba M Diaz for sure you should take the ´cercanias´ local train from Barajas Madrid Airport (T4) to Chamartin Train Station Madrid then change onto the AVE high-speed train to Leon (in 2hrs) and from there take a bus to Ponferrada and follow the rest of the journey as per the recommendation...
Agree @David Tallan . I think for a while at least, those albergues with multiple guest use rooms and large groups capacity could struggle. Accommodation with private room and small group dorms willl survive better.
2020 is not a great time to start a new albergue project. Everything is so totally up in the air!
Agree. Forget 2020! Its 2021 and onwards. With so much emphasis on the #staycation business, the Camino routes are bound to increase in popuarity.

This was a great result! I´m Irish but live in Madrid and walked from Tui to SdC last month. Apart from seeing 3 Japanese in Padrón, everyone we meet, everwhere we stayed or ate were Spanish; mostly from Andalucía and Alicante. Everyone wore masks when in towns or villages or in close contact...
Hi Felice....I walked the Camino for 6days last month. In towns, villages and anywhere you came into contact with other people, we wore a mask, but once in open countryside, we too them off. I live in Madrid where wearing a mask as soon as you leave your home is compulsory.
