Apologies if this link from Gronze has been posted already. https://www.gronze.com/sites/default/files/ruta_de_la_lana_2023.pdf I would be interested in hearing from those who walked this year or last, how this information corresponds to your experience. Thanks !

Solo walkers - what kinds of food do you buy at grocery stores?

Avocado, sardines or small tins of tuna, olives, 33 cl high protein long life chocolate milk ( mercadona) high protein yogourt, hummous, fresh ready made pasta salad (mercadona) and cheese. In some bakeries you can get empanadas.

    Transport from Sanabres to Madrid?

Well for booking bus there is the Avanza link Canuk shared above and for train I found that by scrolling down on Renfe website through all the destinations I eventually found A.Gudiña and so I could search trains from there to Madrid. I had found that if I just typed in the name it wouldnt come up.

    Transport from Sanabres to Madrid?

Hi, glad to hear that it really does stop in Puebla because I can see the train times but have yet to find where to book. On Renfe the stop doesn't seem to exist. Perhaps there is another website for the high speed trains?

    Transport from Sanabres to Madrid?

I'll need to get to Madrid from somewhere near Puebla de Sanabria or A Gudina, does anyone have suggestions for the most straight forward transport? It looks like high speed trains stop at Puebla but I'm unable to find anything on Renfe website. Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. Susan

    Alert River warning after Yelbes

I didn't ask anyone for status on river because I knew it had not rained in the region since Alvaro went through. However I was surprised at the flow of water, if it had been to the knees I would have worried about being knocked over. This amount of water must come from somewhere unrelated to...

    Alert River warning after Yelbes

Crossed the Burdalo river a couple of days ago, water level still about calf height. Going this way via Yelbes when water level allows avoids all dangerous road except for the first few kilometers out of Don Benito really terrible 😱. Am in Mérida now having finished the Mozarabe. It was...

    Alert River warning after Yelbes

I started in Almeria and tonight I'm in Guadix at the Casona de Luz a really nice and comfortable place. It's a wonderful Camino so far and glad I'm here now, temperatures already in low 20 C even at altitude, nicely sunburned mainly on the left side 😂. My destination is Mérida, I walked VdlP...

    Alert River warning after Yelbes

https://www.facebook.com/groups/693727244143968/permalink/2123255054524506/ the Burdalo river after Yelbes is currently very high and deemed unpassable. Anyone in the area would need to go on the (dangerous) road. It would seem the local authorities are promising to build a safe walkway on road...

VdlP Food Recommendations - A Serious Question

Just saw this now, they say the camino provides, well I met you on that camino and then had someone to share my love of food with. Not sure who the sensible one of the trio was but I agree that Musicarte in Miranda de Azan was just fantastic. The kitchen in Albergue turístico San Blas in Oliva...

Semana Santa and pilgrim only albergues

Thank you and it is as I suspected, a bit of an unknown in advance. Perhaps I’ll take my thermarest inflatable mattress with me as a backup.

Semana Santa and pilgrim only albergues

Hi, I ‘ll be walking camino Mozarabe March/April 2023 and expect to be in the area of Hinojosa del Duque during Semana Santa. There is usually an albergue municipal exclusively for pilgrims in the towns of this area but can anyone advise me whether these albergues remain available for pilgrims...
