TOTALLY AGREE… my Camino experiences have been great spiritual encounters with me myself and God. I am a hiker, walker, and a non conformist Catholic … I dont have a Compostella and Ive never felt compelled to receive one. I read IVAR almost daily just because … I want to go back every year...
Ive walked the CF from (late September-Oct.) SJPDP to Burgos and Sarria to Santiago (March 2023). Sarria to Santiago: disappointed- scenery drab, most towns not charming, weather horrible that time of year: never again: you asked for opinions….
Perhaps - you may be blessed - as i was … join a local Camino group (i found mine on Facebook) who have used services and/or have walked recently- made reservations in advance and will share their spreadsheet.
I was on that stretch in March of this year - 9 days before Easter. Many little cafes, hotels, albergues were closed. The weather was miserable- cold wet rain and windy. Thankfully we had warm hats and glives. A day out of Santiago - the weather cleared it was sunny and beautiful. We had...
So frankly why do you post something about your snoring if you’re not going to do anthing about it except complain that its not ok to be touched? I agree its not ok to be touched but as you said youre only paying 10 euros …
What's "OP" refer to? And to pile on... I see many responders go back years to questions about RECENT expereineces... I think moderators should not post those responses. They are NOT helpful.
Wow wow wow!! So incredibly grateful that you wrote this response. I read IVAR almost daily and am always put out by the frequent commentary from the “purists” and/or repeat pilgrims who state: do this don’t do that - blah blah blah…. I understand that change is difficult and accepting change...
My only advice - no matter what you decide - it’ll ALL be good… allow yourself to let go of judgement and ego…I agree with everyone’s advice to bus further ahead …. take some time to rest, hydrate, soak In kindness and then revisit a question that only you can answer. All the best and I’ve put...
Given all of your previous injuries - why not consider bag transport? It’s very easy and can be done/decided on one day before? And you can change your mind carry one day; transport the next….
I agree with this feedback - don’t try to manage someone’s reviews positive or negative UNLESS they are obscene and/or totally inappropriate. Censoring is often in the “eyes” of the beholder and often what offend one doesn’t faze another. With that said I read IVAR daily and am often...
I read a lot about folks stressing :: understandable … especially if your first time. If you have enough money to take a cab (I did this in March a few days when the weather was absolutely horrible) just know they’re readily available from town to town. The most I ever paid was 35 euro. For me...
Don’t be a turkey face! If you don’t want to answer questions or think “us” too needy just move on and don’t be soooooo judge mental just because you know things !
I think this looks great! I love the idea of planning ahead and knowing where you’re spending each night. It gave me a total sense of freedom while walking - spent loads of time in prayer, meditation and just absorbing the absolute beauty!
