Hola! I returned a few days ago from walking a section of the del Norte (Irun to Santander). I arranged to do this with my adult son as he was going to be close to that area and I really wanted to spend some time with him. I had suddenly developed plantar fasciitis in one foot a few weeks...
We stayed at the little albergue in Pasajes de San Juan (about 2 weeks ago). It was lovely. So glad we did, I don't think I would have made it all the way to SS - the hills!! We did get there over an hour before it opened, there were already people queuing, though nobody got turned away.
Oh my...this makes me somewhat anxious! I walked the Sanabres in 2021 and it was perfect for me - I don't think I ever saw more than 10 pilgrims in a day, and mostly just a few. Some days none at all. Bliss! The idea of over 100...! It's not the thought of not getting a bed that bothers me...

Thanks Jenny! Very kind of you to offer to support me/Becky's Bathhouse (I've seen charity fundraising links before on here so hopefully okay...)

I walked the Camino Sanabres from Granja de Morerueula to Santiago, starting on 3rd Oct 2021 and arriving in...
Yes, thanks so much Bunclody1 for posting - it's great to hear about your journey and get some on-the-ground info! I'm starting the Camino Sanabres early October. Will be raising money for Becky's Bathhouse, an NGO in Greece supporting refugee women, if anyone is interested...
Ah, happy days, I finally had a reply to my e-mail from Donde Victor Luna Hotel in G de M and they will have a room free! It will be so nice to start at the beginning (even though I'm sure it's going to be a long and tough day, for my first day's walk!). Buen Camino everyone.
