    Duo Lingo or Something Else?

I have found the Fluenz program to be very helpful. They have 2 Spanish programs, Spanish Latin America and Spanish Spain. I do the lessons on my laptop, but they also have an app that can be accessed on your phone or iPad. It is geared for English speakers and introduces various grammar...

Sharing a menu del dia/ becoming a trend/ Santiago de Compostela

I can totally see swapping, but I don't recall el menu del dio being so abundant that someone walking 20K per day would be able to split it (unless of corse, they had an enormous lunch 😉).

So what makes for a really good albergue?

Great suggestions. I would just add that in the showers it is nice to have hooks outside the shower for your clothes / towel, and inside the shower for you kit and maybe a shelf for soap/ shampoo etc

    Order of Wandering Monks/Nuns

Many monks and nuns live in monestaries or convents but work in the community, in schools, hospitals or charitable associations. Some stay in their location (monastery / convent), but provide goods for the community and interact by selling their products (honey, beer, fruitcake, etc.)...

Digital Compostela: Save Trees and Clutter

It sounds like it might be a nice option for some who don't have either room to hang it, can't because they rent, or don't have storage space. It is something I might consider if I have the opportunity to do another Camino.

    Not what I expected!

The yearning to do another one, and knowing it will probably be quite a while before that actually happens since now that I am working full time, and my husband teases me asking when I will be be leaving him all by himself again. Oh well, only a few more years before I can retire.

At 62 thinking of getting my first tattoo, A Tau Cross?

Do you already have an idea of how you want it to look? If you haven't already, you can google "Tau Cross Tattoos" to get an idea of what others have done in terms of design, size and color. Then you could refine your idea, take it to a good tattoo artist and work with him/her to come up with a...

For those that post/blog/write while walking - doing it on your phone

I brought an iPad mini. I got a sim from Salt for it in Pamplona. I also used it to have FaceTime or Skype calls with my husband back home, to call ahead for some lodging reservations, and to do blog type posts on FB. I did not get a Spanish sim for my phone.

4 Extra days. Where would you travel?

I spent my extra days in Madrid. It was fantastic. Lots of great art, parks, good food, and Flamenco shows, so I would plan to spend a couple of days there prior to departure. In between, Zamora or Salamanca look interesting as well.

Walking the Camino with a dog - Experiences?

In 2016 there was a woman walking with 2 dogs. As I recall she sometimes had issues with getting enough food for them in some towns as there was not a place to buy pet food. People were giving her leftover meat and French fries for them. There were also some issues with sunburn.

    Tea on the go

Would a Vapur collapsible bottle work for you? It is very light and, though I have only used it for water, the web site says it can also handle hot beverages. This way if you also have to bring a silicon cup it won't be too much weight.

How to make the Camino more tent friendly. Ideas?

Thank you @good_old_shoes for starting this conversation. When I walked I stayed in albergues. Now with Covid, although I would like to walk, I am not keen to sleep in a room with a lot of unknown people, lovely as they might be, and a tent in the yard would make it doable. It would also have...
