I have been informed that it is to force pilgrims out to eat in the local restaurants but that doesn’t make sense as it takes trade away from local supermarkets. It is only happening in Galicia. Young pilgrims, who are students on tight budgets will stop coming
I am an Aussie so bear with me here. I phone ahead, usually on the day, and ask in Spanish whether they speak English. When they sa no, I say Bugger! Then in about 10 seconds I turn on the Spanish part of my brain and stumble through. So, my advice is have a go and speak clearly and slowly,
Being an Aussie and living in Queensland I am used to temperatures in the high 30s but once the gage climbs into the 40s I am seriously depleted of all energy!

Coffee drinking is very important to the Spanish as it is with the French and Italians. The coffee is robust and full of flavour.
Have a cafe con leche - coffee with milk and enjoy.
i am planning another Camino from mid April 2018. I will have 5 weeks to complete. I do not want to walk the Camino Frances but one of the others. I did the full Camino Portuguese a year ago.
What do you recommend please, paying attention to the weather at that time of the year.
