    Anomalies in THE WAY

The Orisson sign also popped out at me. And it seems to take them a week to get to Pamplona. Maybe they should have lightened up those packs. lol Kelly

Which camino do you recommend for a first timer?

I would say it depends upon the pilgrim, but I would recommend the Frances (despite being more crowded, etc) because it is well-supported & supplied. That way, your newbie friend won't feel so overwhelmed by the experience & if they decide they don't like walking (I know I know, there are people...

    Question about the COMPOSTELA

Just about any place offers a stamp. I got my compostela in 2009, but I don't recall them counting my stamps. They looked at them, to see where I had stopped, but didn't count them. But don't worry; getting 2 stamps per day isn't difficult. :) Kelly

I've got TIX to "The Way"

I would rate it higher than Falcon, about a 7 or 8, since I like the fact that the story depends on the characters, not special effects or CGI. As a pilgrim, there is one background shot that is way out of sequence, but you'd only know it if you're a pilgrim & have stayed in or walked by the...

I've got TIX to "The Way"

It "opens small" on Oct 7, but later in the month in wide release, on Oct 27. As for my 8 hour round trip, the movie & Q&A lasted longer than I thought, so I found a Motel 6 to sleep for a few hours. :) Kelly

I've got TIX to "The Way"

Austin is 4 hours away from me, I have court at 1:45 that afternoon, but I'm still going. Come hell or high water. :D It can be done!! Kelly

I've got TIX to "The Way"

Laurie, the bus tour site is http://theway-themovie.com/bustour/ Arn: The tour will be in DC from Sept 30 to Oct 1, so you have several chances to get tix. :) Kelly

I've got TIX to "The Way"

Check out the movie's Facebook page, Arn. The bus tour is going all over the country. There's got to be a screening near you. :) Kelly

I've got TIX to "The Way"

OMG, I can't believe it!!!! I had a feeling I needed to check out the movie's FB page & did so right when they announced they had 10 pairs of tix to the Austin, Texas screening AND the Q&A following with Mr. Sheen & Mr. Estevez!! I am *SO* pumped it's not even funny!!! I'm hoping a friend can...

Life is a journey, not a destination?

Whenever I felt myself getting caught up in the rush rush rush, I sang this song to myself: You better stop (stop) and smell the roses You gotta count your many blessings every day! You're gonna find your way to Heaven is a rough & rocky road, if you don't stop & smell the roses along the way...

Private Accommodation you would not miss

I've stayed at Meson el Cid in Burgos & recommend it. Not cheap, but worth it. I also recommend the Hotel Portales in Logrono, right outside the wall leading from the old part of town, directly on the Camino. Again, not cheap, but has (or had when I was there) free internet & computers in the...

Spain spanish to South america spanish

Re: Spain spainish to South america spainish I'm not trying to get into it with anyone either, just relating what I was TOLD by native speakers of Spanish IN SPAIN. And no, I do not speak Castillian either. We don't lisp in the New World; it's considered pretentious. Kelly

Spain spanish to South america spanish

Re: Spain spainish to South america spainish the blogger I cite is me. That particular blog is an actual conversation I had with a gentleman who told me he spoke "Gallego." He said, quite clearly, that I spoke "Catalan" when I told him I spoke a little Spanish. I know enough to hear the...

Spain spanish to South america spanish

Re: Spain spainish to South america spainish Well, then, all the Spanish people I spoke with who told me that I speak Catalan & not Spanish, as well as the Cuban American college professor I had dinner with one night who said the same thing, are all wrong. Including this guy...

Spain spanish to South america spanish

Re: Spain spainish to South america spainish If you are from the American continents (as am I) then you speak a dialect of Spanish called "Catalan." It is the dialect spoken by the Conquistadores. You will still be understood, but obviously will stand out as we don't lisp or pronounce "b"s as...

    The mystical and unexplained....

That is pretty freaky. Could be the grass forming in such a way that it looks like a person, though. Either way, it caused me to look more than twice at it. :) Kelly

    The mystical and unexplained....

My theory is that the Camino Frances has become a ley line, because of all the people who have walked its path for thousands of years. The old saying is that with each step, you leave a bit of yourself on the camino, but pick up something from everyone else who has walked it. (sounds like your...

    The Movie `The Way`Martin Sheen

I wasn't even looking for "The Way" on Netflix when it suddenly popped up as a suggestion a while back. So now it's in my queue, but at the bottom, as it has not yet been released. Ah well. Kelly
