I am not 100% sure, but I thought it was 14 days... the only exception was the post office in Santiago that used to keep it for 30 days as an exception (now they keep it longer I think).
But I think the general rule is 14 days for post offices around Spain.
Good luck with this project! I am closing this thread (better to have these conversations in private I think) but feel free to contact @skymuss here by Private Message:

You do not need to register when you start. Once you get to Santiago and get to the pilgrims office, you might find that if there is a long line of pilgrims upstairs... 3 or more people walking together might be sent downstairs to the "groups" office. One of you will nee to enter the information...
ok, closing this thread... as Sabine says, it continues here:

When you click the video... it will be a blank space while it loads... so just be patient (for how long, that depends on your interest speed)... once it has loaded you should see a play button to play the video.
I will just close this thread. Let’s continue over here:

Just a word from someone who is running a "for-profit" business. I guess many albergues/pensiones also are set up this way. It is legally not possible for us to have someone working for us under minimum wage and also to have someone work for us without a work visa.
I think this is different...
Yes, the weather has been strange lately. Today we are expected to get to 31c, 11c more than “normal”. That said, it will cool down soon.. it changes fast.
Have a look here:

It says they will start updating this list on November 1st.
Added later: Ahh... this is Camino Frances only, you are on the Portugues. So I am not sure...
