In 2017 on the Messeta a younger group of walkers slept on one of the haystacks so they could star gaze. Not sure how their night went as I never ran into them again. But I did meet several folk who walked from 2am on the 12 klm stage to the next town to avoid the heat and star gaze at the same...
I also have this habit of returning my plate or cup, especially in a really busy bar or when I sit outside. I do this everywhere I travel and often are asked have I worked in hospitality! Yes, and it makes a difference to a long day on your feet!
I always recommend to new walkers to remove all polish from toes as I believe your toenails need the air as much as any other part of the body and having polish is a quicker way to lose a nail as nails can come quite brittle in shoes and socks 10hrs a day for 35 days. Just saying!
My friend always utters....got the 3 Ps....purse passport and phone.. everytime we left after a nightstop....and we always looked back to be sure we left no rubbish behind...

Yes I watched this last week on airnz on way to Fiji. I also struggled with a couple of the characters, however I did find them a very brave lot to walk such a long distance (one that I skipped thru) and made it to Santiago, especially the 70yr old with arthritis and other health problems...
