Another one of my favorites is this shot I took of the bridge in Puenta la Reina. I have this hanging on my office wall, so I can see it while I work. I was lucky to get such a calm morning, and if you look close, you can see a solitary pilgrim dressed in orange at the center of the bridge. I...
You'll find them in quite a few places. My favorite areas for sunflowers were from Villalcazar to Sahagun, Najera to Redecilla del Camino, and Pamplona to Puente la Reina.

I really enjoyed the San Fermin Festival, it's a spectacle to behold. The entire city participates, young and old. I agree with the two above that it's probably not ideal to stay in town while on the Camino. If you'd like to see the festival though, I stayed at Hostel Hemingway (Calle Amaya, 26...
This sounds right up my alley. I'm in the planning stages now for the Norte. I'm not so fond of the tarmac walking, but I'm sure the scenery, food, and people will more than make up for it.
Great! I walked an almost identical path last summer. I walked 22 days to Santiago and 3 more to Finisterre, and agree with you, that for some it's not very difficult. If you're used to walking/hiking/running long distances, a 25km+ day is actually rather pleasant. I also met some of may...
You have a good plan, and the advice on the thread is top notch. Last year, I took the same trip in reverse. I spent a little over a month backpacking before walking the Camino. I didn't want to carry around my jeans/jackets/etc. while walking, and shipped them home. You'll be glad to rid...
I'm sorry to hear about the lady who got lost walking from Samos. Her story is not a common one though. The way is clearly marked, and backwoods experience is not a requirement. Try to relax, you're going to have a great time!
Great answer with the separation of physically and mentally. For me, the physically challenging stages were so beautiful that time flew by and my body didn't feel it until I stopped for the day. On the mental side, that walk into Burgos felt like an eternity :)
Good advice. I found the same thing last year on the Camino. Traveling solo, it's always pretty easy to find a bed for one. So on the Camino, I never had to reserve a place until the end. In Sarria, I stopped at four or five places before finding a bed at La Magdalena. A gentleman having a beer...
