Favourite Accommodation Splurge along the Camino

Comments already made about Parador in Leon…it was the highlight of our 2014 Camino Frances. Threesome walking together…likely a week or so out of Leon one of us had the bright idea of the Parador. One of life’s mysteries how an idea such as this took hold…kept us going through a few less than...

Interesting you mention TMB as this was the second option mentioned to my walking friend.

    Decisions...decisions

Agreed that’s what 2023 has been about 2 non Camino walks. Machu Picchu Walk I am looking at is a 13 day itinerary with 9 days walking…they go to Choquequirao first…however many many Forum members have walked way more Camino paths than I have…and there is good reason for that.

    Decisions...decisions

Looking forward to 2024...in 2023 have walked a modified Island Walk (582 kms) in PEI Canada and in the Fall plan to walk Wainwrights Coast to Coast in England. However for 2024...back to a Camino route...that is unless I choose to walk to Machu Pichu in Peru which I am considering 😂. I have...

How Important Was It To You To Do "Full" CF ?

An interesting post as I have done both...enjoyed all experiences, and am considering split Caminos in the future. In 2013 started walking in Rorschach Switzerland with the grand plan of walking to Finisterre in one go. One day out of Geneva had to return home due to emergency health situation...

How much route planning is actually needed?

Have fun planning and yes 33 days should be good. When I walked my first Camino I was recently retired from a planning profession and simply carried that over to my Camino walk which covered 5 routes in total in Switzerland, France, Spain to Finistère. I created quite a spreadsheet, booked many...

    Camino Blog Question

Thanks...I am definitely going to try this...If I can skip the street address I am off to the races. I certainly thought of simply making stuff up however my Canadian upbringing is really causing me palpitations :)

    Camino Blog Question

Quite ok with being out there on the Web however still want to mitigate any problems where I can...and my better half is more concerned about this than I am...so it's important! Camino Blog Question

Thanks Trecile...If I understand your suggestion it would be to set up a Grouping of email addresses (current subscribers). When I post on my Blog I would then send out a separate email to the Grouping letting them know that a new Blog post has been created. Simple...an extra small step and...

    Camino Blog Question

Hi, In 2013 when I first walked a Camino route I created a Blog and have had great fun on my various Camino walks posting updates at the end of the day. Over time a massive following;) (~100 or so people) have subscribed and receive an email whenever I post. Recently Feedburner (which is used...

    Frances in 27 days?

Definitely possible as I walked it in 27 days in 2014 (57 years old at time) along with my brother (55) and a fellow we met the first night in Roncesvalles (40 or so). I had already had the benefit of 3 other Camino walks through Switzerland and France prior to SJPP. What helped us was a...

Camino Frances Accommodation - Hope this if of use

Very good point as I have not maintained the information over the years. With the advent of various phone apps these would be much more current information sources for planning purposes. Guy

Thanks Ingrid for the clarification. I was not aware of the confirmed screening at YongeDundas when I first posted. To be honest being new to Toronto was not even aware of the Toronto Chapter. Learn new things every day! I have chosen to cancel my Sep 25th pending tickets and purchased 2...

Hi David My understanding now is that there are two showing Sept 23 at Yonge Dundas which is confirmed...the Sept 25th showing is at Eglinton which at this time needs 45 more tickets sold to be confirmed. I have contacted Demand Films to find out if those (me included) who wait to find out...
