I remember my wife and I having doubts even before we left home. We decided to just take it day by day...and those days added up to both of completing our Camino. Don't think of next week...think of tomorrow (or possibly the next day, if you are taking a deserved day off) and celebrate that you...
I frequently hear this comment about the last 100 km, but we walked it in June and did not have any crowding problems…except one morning when we started early. That day there were school groups and other groups…so much so that we stopped and let them by.
The trick was not to be up so early. We...
Here is a suggestion that may help you. We were only able to walk from Sarria as that is all of the time we could afford. We were a bit slower than most because of some health issues. We found that there was an early morning rush (school groups, those rushing to secure spaces at albergues...
Yes! I read that! We are looking to go back and do a different route. I saw that the Portuguese Route is somewhat flatter than other routes, but still picturesque. But they will all have their challenges…otherwise it would not be a Camino!

In early June we hiked the Camino from Sarria onward. As we were traveling as a family, having the guarantee of a bed and hot water at the end of the day was a priority. It was clear we were pilgrims, but no mention of a discount was given...or asked for on our part. The accommodations, though...
“I am sooooo worried she will be made aware of negative comments, such as I have just today - again - read on FB forums. ‘Sarria pilgrims’? Pfuitt!
Unfair, hurtful etc... It really upset me. No-one deserves this.”
You don’t have to worry. We felt ourselves privileged to be able to hike from...
We spent a few days in Leon and loved it. The Cathedral is beautiful, as is the Romanesque Basilica nearby. It was a great small old town area well worth exploring! There is s great store for calligraphers in town too.
