    Maps with fountain info

I made a major mistake on my 1st Camino that involved getting badly dehydrated, at one point I found myself sitting on the trail not knowing how I got there. The next morning I woke up dizzy and checked into a local hotel. The next 2 wakeups I was still dizzy, so I ended my camino and flew home.

walking the Camino aged 79 (the French way)

I've tried the walk starting in May twice. I was 74 the first time and then 75. For different reasons I failed and had to return early. Depending on what is happening I plan on making a 3rd attempt in 2022 when I'm 80. As far as I can tell 2021 is a "holy year" which might increase the...

If that is inconvenient for you I'll go back and look for you, if I can figure a way to afford it. (And if the EU will ever let us USA types in again.)

It isn't autocorrect, it is an indication of how bad i am at spelling!

Breakfast in St Jean Pied de Port

I assume you know that most hotels and aubergines include a continental breakfast with the room charge. Then if you want a little snack to eat while on the way to Orisson you can buy it in town before leaving. If that is not what you want to do, then you can have a snack at Hunto which is on the...

St Jean Pied de Port - to - Roncesvalles by Napoleon Route

I grew up on the side of a hill, our rule was that we had to walk on the side of the road that would allow us to jump off the road if a car got too close. That was much better than being crushed between a car and a wall.

Senior Newbies planning first Camino- advice?

There is "Hotel des Pyrenees" which has a great location, but is way too expensive for me. It is a real four star hotel and restaurant. Rooms can be booked with booking.com.

    Camino Travel Agent recommendations

The New York Times has several guided trips on the Camono a year. I am sure that there are others. On my first trip, I used a travel agent to get reservations in Madrid, Bayonne, Saint Jean and Orisson. After that I planned to get reservations each day for the next day. For my second trip...

    Hand Luggage (Backpacks)

On my most recent trip I took my pack into the cabin, packed up my poles and checked them. The poles were lost but easily replaced in Saint Jean. Glad I didn't lose the backpack. When I lost my poles I got this from the airport. My poles got to California before I did and one was broken.
