Hi Helen. My son and I walked from Sahagun to Santiago two years ago in 21 days, and we were doing less than 15-16 miles per day. I honestly don't think you'll need to take a bus through any portion at that rate, unless you want to build in time to spend a few days resting at different points...
I did the camino last summer and stayed in Sahagun. You can get a geographical midpoint certificate at the local church which was a fun extra. I stayed at the Los Balcones del Camino.
There is a medical center/ER right off the trail entering in to the town. My son and I visited it about a week ago when he fell on the trail. They were really nice and helpful.

The nerves have begun - I fly out from home tomorrow afternoon on my way to Sahagun. Thanks to all on this forum for their input and good advice. Can't wait to post my pictures and share my experiences!!
Just got my plane tickets and have an update to my start date and location. My son and I will be starting from Sahagun on May 29th. I almost can't believe that we're really going!!! Super excited!
Hello all. I will be traveling with a vegetarian next year and I am wondering if there will be any availability of pilgrim menus for her or if we should plan on making other eating arrangements. Also, does anyone have tips/hints/advice for vegetarians traveling the Camino? Thanks all!
Appreciate the information. I'm planning on starting from Pamplona in mid-May and giving myself 26-30 days to complete. So my pace will probably be slower. Thanks for the tips on shoes and packs. :)
This is great! That is about the time I wanted to do my Camino next year. Could you tell me where you started from and about how many kms you covered in a day? Just trying to get an idea of what my schedule would be like. Thanks and congratulations!!
Stephanie
