    Correos

As for myself I find a great part of the fun of the Camino is gathering together the lightest and most versatile gear(everything must be able to be worn or used for at least one other purpose). And the 5 euros a day would add up quickly and buying a new shirt or socks along the way is cheaper...

Band of Trudgers - Virtual Camino

Who needs a tent? I just spread my silver emergency blanket out and sleep under the stars. Every virtual night is warm with a star filled sky. I saw a meteor shower last night.

Band of Trudgers - Virtual Camino

I started a walking buddies group but so far you are the only one to give me their member name. The member number also works. How was your night of camping last night? We wanted to make it to Foncebadon so we walked after dinner. Darn. We walked right past it but had a lovely view of Cruz de...

Band of Trudgers - Virtual Camino

Thanks Sue for your name. You are just a little ahead of me. we had to sleep out under the stars between St Jean and Roncesvalles but other days have managed to find some interesting little villages on our short days. And a virtual Camino gives you lots of leeway. We haven't had to take a taxi...

Band of Trudgers - Virtual Camino

I would love to create my group. What names are my fellow virtual Walker's using ? I added my picture to my name on the site. Maybe if you all did that I could pick you out. Thanks

Band of Trudgers - Virtual Camino

We walked from Leon to San Martin del Camino today along a trail in the pines of Washington. The sun was out and several people were very talkative just like the actual Camino. Tomorrow Astorga 🌻🍫 How do we form a neighbor's group? If you are more savy than I am please add Camino Sharon. Thanks

    Fun Camino alternative

I love planning. Using the walking for fun website my husband and I have accumulated 61.8 miles in the past week. We are walking the virtual Camino Francis and do enough miles each day to get to a town with a private room (for social distancing) We planned an extra day in Pamplona pretending we...

we never take a guidebook on the Camino after the first trip so this site has all the information you need as long as you have a mobile phone https://www.gronze.com/

StJPdP to Finisterre in 30 Days - Sample Itinerary?

I like this app. I tried to create a 25 day schedule to give you time to walk to Fisterra but you can see long miles some days. Just an idea Day 1: Mon, 3/9/20 Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port -- Orreaga/Roncesvalles (16.0 miles) Day 2: Tue, 3/10/20 Orreaga/Roncesvalles -- Larrasoaña (16.8...

Tips for couple of youngters doing the camino Frances in March/April

One of the reasons I walk the Camino once or twice a year is so I don't have to take a tent. Enjoy the specialness of the Camino and the camaraderie with other pilgrims at albergues. Save the tent for true backpacking. Although the Camino pilgrims carry a backpack (because a pilgrim does...

    Sarria pilgrims

If you were looking for solitary experience then don't pick the busiest part of the Camino ---the last hundred kilometers. I have walked this part 10 times either in May September both busy months. The Camino changes when you reach this point. Busloads of pilgrims are dropped off and most of...

Walking the Camino Frances multiple times - why?

Well not experiencing a first Camino high may be true for some people's caminos. I reach a new high each camino. They keep getting better each time and this may be because I'm an experienced long-distance hiker My first one was lacking because I tried to hike it like the Pacific Crest trail...

Accomodations in Saint Jean pied de Port

I just took a look and it looks nice but at 100 euros a night off season it may be a little steep for the average pilgrim budget when one needs accommodation for 40 nights. I am willing to pay that and more to stay at the light house at Fisterre or in a Parador or another historical building...

    Camino Frances May 2020

If you use the only pilgrim's website to book your rooms you have paid in advance and they keep the room for you. http://www.onlypilgrims.com/en/listado/ Some people are confused by the site but you go to hostels and then each hostel is listed by The village. You don't have to login that's only...

Are you thinking to walk the Camino (the way of the Saint James) again?

I am going to walk my 11th and 12th Camino this year, already have plane tickets. Do I think about the Camino every day, yes. I suppose I could unsubscribe to Ivar's daily emails and then maybe I won't think about it as often but why do that😱. I often wonder why I am so drawn to the Camino...

Does anyone recognize this name (owner perhaps) from an albergue/hostel?

https://www.puntido.com/. I recommend this albergue.it is across from the church which has one of the best Pilgrim blessings and on the whole Camino. The community dinner is excellent and I've made friends there every time I've stayed
