Hi
I also need a sim with data, on a previous Camino I purchased a prepaid sim from an online reseller, the sim came from HITS mobile it used the Vodafone network, I was very happy with the service both data and calls. However it has expired and can't be recharged, it was about $25 with $5...
An alternate option would be the Portuguese Camino starting in Porto or Barcelos , apart from the first days walk from the outskirts of Port this route is very picturesque and arrival in Santiago within two weeks is very do-able, you may even have time to bus to Finisterre. It isn't as busy as...
Rabanal, love that albergue have been a guest there 5 times, I particularly like the old church, no gold leaf and marble, just centuries of community and feeling. I'll be back again this summer
If your not walking late into the afternoon finding accomodation in a albergue should not be a problem, and if the albergue is full then you still have time to find a pension room.
I would caution you not to try to go into an albergue as a group, arrive as individuals or pairs. I have seen...

I have used this service, the hospitality was great, the included meals were great, and for me I was happy to walk out their front door to start my Camino there. And it was great value!

On the Camino Portuguese, Lugar do Corgo
Casa Fernanda!
After 4 complete Camino France's and 1 Camino Portuguese, this has been the BEST albergue that I have ever stayed in, Fernanda's passion for caring and assisting pilgrims is amazing as is her and her husbands cooking using mostly home grown...

I have read the post again that I had commented on, and I concur that I misinterpreted what was said.
My view is that you are I entitled to whatever you want on the Camino, as long as you are prepared to pay full price. If you pay less than full price then you are receiving charity...
Is the Camino only for pilgrims with money? My understanding is that the donativo establishments will provide what they can for genuine needy pilgrims no questions asked. Some of those needy pilgrims are unemployed Spanish youths trying to find some direction/inspiration?
I take offence in your suggestion that the new wave pilgrims are less worthy than those who have walked in the past.
There is nothing wrong with pilgrims asking questions, after all this is a forum, and different points of view should allowed to be expressed. There is nothing wrong with making...
Many people have used the postal service to do this, some friends posted parcels to the Santiago post office and collected it when they arrived, I believe the post office holds it up to 30 days, i cant see any reason why other cities along the way wouldn't provide the same service? internal...
Monte de Gozo ,
Restaurant Sousa , back in the village down on the main road, about a 12 minute walk from the Albergue 4 courses 8 euro if you show your credential ! Great bottle of wine (not decanted from a 20Ltr drum) desert is made on the premises not a supermarket yogurt. I have dined...
