    Jewish Quarters?

Sevilla has a Jewish quarter. Don’t think it was marked as such. But somehow I was intrigued(?) by all the narrow streets in this quarter having names of saints, Santa this or that, until I came across a sort of Jewish centre/museum which explained the history of the expulsion(?) of jews and my...

    The Way (in english)

I can recommend the film "I'll push you". Two friends doing the camino, one in a wheelchair and the other pushing. Very touching....

    Reverse Camino

Anecdote: I was going counterflow from Astorga to Leon connecting the VdlP to the San Salvador. Arriving in Hospital de Orbigo the hospitaleira asked “And where have you come from today?” And with a look of pity with the confused old lady (76 at the time) “No, to Astorga you will go tomorrow!”

Extra day if you're not a city person

Amazing for Benedictine monks and several other orders. Cistercians(?) eg. Stayed for several days in Poblet and had to put up in their hostal whereas men could stay within the monastery walls and participate in the lives of the monks.

Extra day if you're not a city person

If you are a woman you will not be allowed to eat with the monks.....

If you have/are walking this summer... Would you do it again, knowing the restrictions/challenges?

81 and hoping to walk from Granada to Córdoba - but will that part of Spain be open? Watching the latest figures I fear another lockdown....

There is not really anything I can add to all that has been said above. So lots of good wishes for the future for you and your family! Keep safe!

    Monte do Gozo

When I stayed there towards the end of June 2013 the albergue was clean and warm(! important in the cold wet weather!) and well managed with no rumours about any problems. Of course being such a huge setup with no tourists about, shops were closed and the main restaurant as well. But a cafeteria...

    Monte do Gozo

On my first camino (Norte) I arrived in Santiago in the evening in the rain, extremely tired, was not allowed into the cathedral with my pack and so just went to bed in my pension. So on my second camino (Primitivo) I deliberately stopped at Monte de Gozo. Coming in from the rain I found myself...

1st time Camino. Starting Frances 26th Sep

Hello JP! Not easy to walk a camino against the flow with the yellow arrows on the “wrong” side of trees, lampposts etc. And the blue squiggles generally are not very numerous I noticed. So bon courage! And maybe you can keep us up-to-date about making progress. Buen camino!

Sadly I have to resign my planned october 2020 last stage.

Hi Paddy! I had my 80th Birthday camino with the whole family cancelled at Easter and just now the flight from London to Granada with my daughter for the camino from Granada to Córdoba cancelled as well. As Malingerer said, the camino will still be there, so we have started planning the same...

Have just discovered this thread! Wonderful photos! Doable, Rebekkah said! By whom? No longer by me probably, but I am adding it to my planning/dreaming list all the same. Thank you all!

    What the ......

Exactly so, VNwalking! Having lived as expat in four countries during the last 60 years I do not expect anybody to listen to what I might tell them about my experience. But I do miss having somebody to share the various languages and what comes with this, books, films, jokes.....

    What the ......

@LTfit and her albergue in Villares de Órbigo

I walked the alternative “counterflow” from Astorga to Leon connecting the VdlP with the San Salvador and found this a very pleasant walk. Not having walked the CF I cannot compare it with the official route.
