'Addiction'- an appropriate word for wanting to walk the Camino again (& again)?

While I understand some people's sensitivity to the term addiction due to their life experiences Miriam Webster also defines addition as - a strong inclination to do, use, or indulge in something repeatedly. This may be a common use definition, that has been added over the years, but it...

Any tips for a first timer starting out in February 2018?

But can open later if there is alot of snow. Also - take lists of open albergues with a grain of salt. I found a few that were closed even though a kind person a few days earlier had them on a list of open albergues.

    Leaving a loved one...

For those left behind, I put an app called Followmee on my phone and sent them a link and they were able to see where I had been in the last 16 hours. Dad would wake up and check to see that I had made it to my next destination - then not worry if I hadn't checked in yet.

    Another Camino newbie

It is easier if you have the passport when you meet up with your son. They are available in Leon, but having one in your hand will save you a trip out to find one.

Remember the first rule of the jungle/camino!!!!!

Like all machines ATMs can fail. If they restart or have a computer error during your transaction, you may not get your money or your card back. It is rare, but it definitely happens.

Remember the first rule of the jungle/camino!!!!!

I think he is saying it is safer to us an ATM when the bank is open. Then if there is a problem they can help you. However, these days, some bank ATM's are being serviced by outside companies, so even when the bank is open the branch staff have no keys to retrieve captured cards. I learnt...

sending excess luggage SJPP to SDC

The other thought is SJPP is in France and you are sending the bag international from the French postal service to the Spanish. I have heard this can be more costly and troublesome when/if time comes for tracking the package.

Hi Mayuresh - Welcome to the forum. I love the Camino and am very excited for you and am jealous about the journey you are about to embark on. Extra shoes?

I met a Danish woman whose shower shoes were crocs and when her boots had failed her, she had walked over 500km in the crocs. Not a recommendation, but might be something to think about. My second shoes were the shower flipflops, I walked around town with them, but didn't wear them with my...

GEO tracker, anyone ever use one?

GPS does not use data. You can use followmee without data, it stores the tracks on your device and uploads to the internet when you find wifi. However, if you do not have data, you do not get real time location.

GEO tracker, anyone ever use one?

Actually, I would have assumed the Tile wasn't working properly . . . I am not a worrier! o_O I lost a Black Yi Camera, in a dark restaurant, the day before I got the Tile to attach to it. I was unable to ring it, or see if it was still there. The Tiles seem the perfect solution. :D
