Must agree with bjorgts, when I walked the route last year I didn't have too many problems with route finding, but didn't particularly enjoy the Camino, too much time paralleling railways or major roads. Problem seems to be, without pilgrims not much demand for infrastructure, without...
William,
I agree, the walking route is not a lot better, the first two days are a little better with views over the bay or the nature reserve on the second, after that too much time paralleling motorways or railways.

George
I found the route to be well marked for a walker, at walking pace you have plenty of time to spot the arrows.
As to power, google "Tigra bike charger" or "phone charging on bike."
As to maps google "rac route planner"
As to plug, multi USB adapter and aux battery.

George
A simple google would provide :-
Mundicamino
www.caminosantiagoincadiz.org
www.asociaciongadsitanajacobea.org or if you have a gps device Wikiloc for gpx files.
Walked that route myself last year, sorry to say not my favorite route, although Cadiz and Jerez were spectacular.

George
Hi Ariel,
Look at the first post on the Mozarabe section of this forum for a "YouTube" and a link to Maggie's great blog.
The only really mountain stages were the first couple as far as I remember, as for snow perhaps a look at a weather history for the area might give an idea of the likely...
Hi Ariel.
Another suggestion
If you want a southern walk, look at Maggie's blog of our travels on the Mozarabe. Malaga - Córdoba may be a candidate 9-10 days and a Albergue at the end of most stages.
I tend to be a bit of a "purist" in my approach to Camino.

George
Hi Ariel,
I walked from Cadiz to Seville in April this year, and in honest truth only enjoyed the first couple of days, after that too many kms of trails adjacent to motorways or rail lines and to cap it all after a sleepless night in Utrera (bad choice of hotel, above the local youngsters pub...
Hi Alan,
Are you planning to post your Mozarabe progress anywhere? While I walked Malaga - Cordoba - Merida with Maggie last year (check out her great blogg), current info on the Almeria - Cordoba section would be a help for my planning for next year.
Nowt wrong with thinking about the camino...
Hi Alan.
Last year I walked from Cadiz, if you follow the Serrana route you will probably stop in Utrera as I did, it may be a good idea to give the Pension Higalgo 11 ( suggested by the Cadiz amigos) a miss, its above a bar favored by the local youth, LOUD music till very late. Check...
Hi Laurie.
Yes I'm on the VdlP at Casar at the moment, and am going to Canaveral tomorrow.
As to next year, well who knows, but it will have to be a Camino less travelled.
Regards
George
Hi Susan.
It's difficult to say but I probably enjoyed days one and two the best, too many kms adjacent to major roads after that.
The VdlP is many times nicer.

George
Utrera - Seville.
Arrived Seville.
Horrible night in Utrera, my hostel was above the bar favoured by the local youth, plus there was a football match on TV. One way and another not a lot of sleep!
If l had done a trip advisor I would have seen this was a common complaint.
Walked to Dos Hermanos...
Las Cabezas - Utrera Day 5
Another wet day.
Leave Las Cabezas on the main road, following arrows, to a muddy track! Happily after the first irrgation ditch the tack changed to a harder surface through fields to parallel the motorway and or the railway.
At the junction of the railway/irrigation...
El Cuervo - Las Cabezas Day 4.
Rain during night and more forecast for today.
Left El Cuervo following main road, turn left at Camino arrow.
After 200 mtrs decided that the mud was going to be a real pain, so plan B, back to road, to the outskirts of Lebrija and onto the N471 to Las Cabezas...
Jerez - El Cuervo Day 3
Picked up the route at the edge of the city, if in doubt keep to the left of the raised railroad, you will be following this for a few kms.
Coffee stop after about a hour or so.
After the airport fence, there's a bridge over motorway with parallel track that's to right...
Cadiz - Seville Day 2 Puerto Real - Jerez
Route marking out of town OK, head towards the University, just before there's the entrance to the Parque Natural, take the main track straight ahead, very few arrows, keep on main track until a VERY long footbridge, take first right at visitor centre...
Thanks for the response, re buses I landed at Jerez and there weren't any buses to be seen, so I went for the easy \ cheapest option.
Day one so far, blue sky and hot.
Route marking OK, when in doubt straight ahead.
The route itself, well, for the first few kms along the prom great, from the...
Arrived Jerez to start the Via Augusta tomorrow, I had a couple of issues, there doesn't seem to be a lot in the way of buses, so the option was taxi to Cadiz 55e or taxi to Jerez bus station 15e, and bus from there to Cadiz.
I'm in at the Cadiz Inn Backpackers 15e, kitchen, clean and in the old...
Hi AfriCat,
Have you produced your notes on the Via Augusta ? have I missed them somewhere?
I've booked a flight into Jerez on April 8 2016, and am begining to put some info together from the usual sources, I've got the Cadiz amigos guide, looked at Mundicamino, I've down loaded and printed the...
