I got mine at the cathedral. You would literally walk out the front doors of the cathedral to the left corner of the building to view the first arrow and continue to the back of the cathedral to start your Camino. The first day is tough....guaranteed. Good luck!
After Norte route, I'll walk Portugal again. Probably start late October. My flight back to Ottawa isn't until November 16. I'll walk two Caminos for the third time in 14 months. (Addicted)
As I recall, the first day I stayed at a fire hall for a donation and required assistance to find it but after that, it was pretty easy. I have a PDF guide book for the route and it helped.

I'm walking Norte route starting on Sept 13. I've been through Portugal twice and if you decide to go, start in Porto as the South appears to recognize the Camino less and therefore less support.
Thank you for your insight. I'm more than excited now. Yeah! I walked Portugal paths twice in the last year and the south was not great but Porto and north wasn't bad....pretty good actually but that's my thought.
