    Porto Highlights?

Made it to Casa da Guitarra. Indeed there were beautiful instruments to be found.

    Porto Highlights?

It would be nice to buy a guitar, or some other string instrument as a souvenir of Portugal, but I'm flying United.

    Porto Highlights?

I'll be in Porto in late April. I've been to Porto three times in the past and one of the things I LOVE the most are the Tunas, the University Student singing groups. On two occasions I have been lucky enough to run across their performances and the recordings I made with my camera I still...

Are there enough Albergues from the Porto to Santiago?

The only time I had any problem between Porto and Santiago was in Redondela, there was no room in the albergue. But in just a few minutes three of us found an apartment to share just a few yards away. I think they are prepared for the overflow.

Why am I having 2nd thoughts about CP

My first camino was from Porto to Santiago. It is one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Rarely does a day go by that I don't think of it and smile.

Portuguese Restaurants - beware of Extras

Amen Some of the most memorable restaurant experiences I've ever had have been in Portugal . . . . . at a VERY reasonable price.

Great reasons to start in Lisbon

I have been debating whether to visit Porto again after the end of my next Camino. The debate is over.

    Self-guided tour support companies

Barcelos to Ponte de Lima is indeed a bit of a slog.

    Self-guided tour support companies

That's where my suggestion of Marly Tours would come in nicely. In April the six of us had a guide and a chase vehicle to take us to our casa rurals, and for some to ride when the walking was too much. When I went back with my nephew in June, I ran into the chase vehicle driver (but no guide)...

    Self-guided tour support companies

You might try http://marlycamino.com/ A group of us used them this past April on the CF and found them to be wonderful. Their Portugues Novo package tour http://marlycamino.com/camino/portugal/ might not be what you want, but you could contact them and see if they could do a custom...

    Texas to Porto to Santiago

I'm glad you enjoyed. The Camino Portuguese is indeed special and different from the CF.

    The shell?

Last year I got a scallop shell as I left SJPdP. By Larrasoana, I was so tired to hearing it banging around while trying to put everything in my pack, I left it there in the albergue. Later that day, a man who had been in the same room with me saw me and gave it to me saying "you left this at...

Hi Matt, I remember that we met at Orisson in May of 2014. I know that you will enjoy Porto to Santiago, it was my first. Is Denise going?

Thank you. I am grateful for your help and knowledge.

Five hours in Porto - what to do, see, eat and drink?

Thanks for the responses. I have been as far as Pinhao since Folgosa was only 2 or 3 miles before it. I don't think we'll be wanting to actually stay overnight up the valley, since we'll only be in Porto for a couple of days and then traveling on down to Lisbon for the remainder of our...
