Hello Doug, I am a fellow Aussie (from Melbourne) and just wanted to know what covid protocols you came up against flying into Portugal. We are fully vaxxed and are planning to do the coastal route from Porto, later in the year.

I would recommend going on the"6 Bridges cruise", which departs from Cais de Ribeira and lasts for about an hour. It gives you a different perspective of Porto, ie, from the Douro river and lots of excellent photo opportunities.
From here in Melbourne, Australia, Europe seems very dismal at the moment. Emirates flights are even cancelled on the east coast here. Our March 2020 CP was cancelled, but we do hope to get back to Portugal & Spain in 2022 or 2023. By then, we should have been vaccinated and the covid situation...
Thank you John Lloyd,I watched with tears in my eyes. My husband and I were due to fly to Porto tomorrow, and because of this horrible virus that is impacting the world, we had to cancel. We walked the Coastal Portugues last year and fell in love with the Camino. Hopefully, we will walk it again...
