Best way to get from Biarritz to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port?

I took the Express Bourricot option, shared with 5-6 others, made it very reasonable. My flight was delayed by 60’ and the EB team waited for us. We were all starting the next day and met one or two from the taxi on the walk from SJPP and again at Refuge Orrison.

    rucksack labels/passport

Examples of labels/envelopes from May 2022 provided in Albergues for daily bag transport to your next stop. You use a fresh envelope every day. You phone the transport company the day before (after albergue check-in) to book transport for the next day. Note: telephone numbers change as different...

    rucksack labels/passport

I had a robust holiday suitcase tag firmly attached to the carry handle on my rucksack. It survived 6 weeks including at least 20 days of transport. Services I used were those where the albergue had tie-on labels/envelopes available.

ride share Biarritz airport to St Jean Pied de Port, Aug 23, 2022.

Look at the Express Bourricot service. They will collect you from the Biarritz airport. Normally it’s a ride share service so they will try and find others arriving at a similar time to you which lowers the cost. I think that they are ExpressBourricot.com.

    Backpack Transfer along CF

I used the €5 daily service from either jacotrans or NCS for about 3/4 of my CF trip earlier this year. Never had a problem as long as I remembered to phone them the afternoon before once I knew where I wanted my bag delivered. The price may have increased due to the current fuel prices.

Time needed for security screening at Santiago de Compostela airport.

It will depend on how busy your flight is and how many other flights land/depart at a similar time = hard to predict. Get there 3hrs before take off time - if you’re early sit, have a coffee and chill. I took the bus from Santiago to the airport - it was not running to the published timetable...

Had great service from Express Bourricot. Our flight was delayed by 2 hrs (Ryanair!!!!!) but they waited for us.

Travel insurance for a UK citizen walking Camino Frances: Necessary/worth it?

Check expiry date on your EHIC card. I have bought insurance but I am in a different age bracket (>55) and so have a different risk profile and risk appetite. New COVID variants are probably the biggest risk. As long as you have sufficient funds available to cover any extended isolation periods...
