My next Camino will be as soon as I can get into Spain. Have done it 5 times already and know the places I want to see again and the routes I want to walk and those I do not.
It's no longer a pilgrimage from 0 to 800 but rather a wonderful return to the places I love and slow gentle strolls so...
There are cheap flights from Gatwick to Bayonne. About AUD$114 (about 80 pounds) last time I looked.
From Bayonne you catch the train directly to St Jean.
The route shown in the image you posted isn't the one l posted. But, as long as there isn't too much difference l'm guessing there is still a chance they will let people board.
Perth WA to Paris train to SJPdP and return then train Santiago to Madrid then to Perth
Google flights is great for these:

Lots of trains to Madrid early in the mornings.
Travel times vary from 5:18 to 7:55 hours travel times.
7:00 AM, 7:48 AM, and 9:39 AM - different routes different prices...
The transfer at Bordeaux was fine. Just follow everyone with backpacks. Seriously - there will be any number of backpackers and they are almost all heading to SJPdP.
Buen Camino.
Depends on how comfortable you want to be.
If you go to the train station at CDG you'll be safe as they close the doors at night (be careful because they also close the toilet doors) and take any food/drinks you may want. There are plastic benches there that you can sleep on but you MUST HAVE A...
If you're going to use Ryan to get a ticket home please make sure you book your return flight when you buy your ticket too where you want to get to in Spain/France.
I ended up in Santiago without a return ticket and they wanted to slug me over 600 Euro to get to Stansted. I travelled to...
I flew into Paris from Perth, WA.
Caught the train to Bayonne from Charles DeGaulle Airport, tranfered about 15 minutes after arrival to train to Bairitzz about 10 minutes after I arrived - just look for the platform with all the people carrying backpacks - for the train to St Jean. Arrived in...
Maybe try Google Flights. They show you what is availalbe for ALL airlines that fly the routes except Ryan and Easy I believe:

There are direct flights into Leon.
OUCH! My mistake - the train leaves from BAYONNE, not Biarritz. But there is a train from Biarritz to Bayonne on a regular schedule and can cost as little as 1.4 Euro: https://www.trainline.eu/trains/biarritz/bayonne.
There is a train direct from Biarritz to SJPdP. Cheap as chips and the train has a lot of other pilgrims so you can set up friendships straight away.
Buen Camino.
