Ryanair have two flights a day from Santiago to Barcelona during the summer, prices right now are pretty good (€44 without bags) but will go up closer to flight date.
Ryanair recently reinstated the Santiago-Valencia flight though I don't believe you will find May 2011 online yet but keep an eye on it and you may well find a bargain price.

looked at the website, the bus is 5.60EUR. i think my roncesvalles - sjjp taxi was 20eur between three people but maybe less. though the camino is cheap to do and costs are fairly predictable you should be prepared to have to pay more than expected the odd time.
if you get the coach from Pamplona to Roncesvalles you may well find that a taxi driver will be waiting to take pilgrims over the border to SJPP, that was my experience anyway.
