Interesting. In Canada they have never given any credit for renewing early. And we've always been warned that countries could deny us entry if our passport expires within six months of travel.
Because flights from Canada to Paris were se cheap recently we reserved our own "connecting" flight with Air France to Madrid. We allowed enough time so we wouldn't be concerned about connections.
When you land you have to get on a "train" shuttle that takes you to the main airport and thru...
First time we got a four hour car ride to Calgary, barely made the plane to Bordeaux. At Bordeaux Airport we caught the bus to the train station, then got on the train to Bayonne where we connected with the one to SJPP. We only booked a room at Orrison and not in SJPP. We foolishly stood in...
The airline changed our flights three times but only our departure flights and it was the return flights we were more concerned about. We finally cancelled because the flights were just getting worse.
We have heard to hold tight and book after February 28 because more routes will be available...
You might find this site useful to see your options. This is the website we have been using for around 10 years now. It's for finding flights but you can't buy tickets. I believe I learned about it thru these forums.

We have flights booked for our camino in the spring...
Because you say you are taking a 2am bus I would imagine you need to purchase your tickets in advance. You could do this right at the depot.
If you take the river route into town you will already be thru the tunnel and over the river when you arrive. When you see Hotel Via Gotica the bus...
Jill, I think the hop on hop off bus is a great idea. You don't know how jet lagged you might be and the bus is relaxing and the perfect way to get an idea of the layout of the city and just people watch. I was in Madrid for a week a couple of years back with plantar fascitiis and used the...
I choose my destinations based on what was the cheapest and for me this happens to be flying into Bordeaux and leaving from Madrid. These tickets are just as cheap if not cheaper than a return in and out of one town, even with the bus and train tickets thrown in and also shorter in time...
I also took out the maximum amount each time I used the bank machine. I broke my largest bills first so I always had smaller bills on hand just in case. I also used my credit card when I could to avoid having to visit the ATMs too often.
We had a layover in Amsterdam airport so that is where...
Thanks for starting this thread. We will be flying out of Madrid early in the morning but most places don't have early enough shuttle times. I prefer to go thru screening earlier to avoid the line ups. I just booked with hostal los Coranales thru booking.com even though we aren't departing...
Some one here mentioned the following site and it is now my favourite for looking for flights. You can't purchase tickets but when you find the flight you want you just go directly to the airline webpage to purchase. I find it a very easy to use site.

Thanks for the idea Karin, but with the time difference I will be arriving at what would be 3am for me. Too dangerous for me to be driving. We drove all over France a couple of years ago and loved seeing the differences in the scenery depending on what part of the country we were in. If you...
Thanks for the help. Those links are great Julie.
I will probably go with our original plan and fly into Toulouse. The idea of flying to Biarritz is also enticing but the extra 5 hours is spent in airports and we are carrying on our luggage so wouldn't feel too comfortable dozing off in an...
Thanks for your help. I am going to be flying out of Calgary, after driving 4 hours from BC. I will be returning thru Madrid.
As of this morning the times and prices are:
Bordeaux $1094 14 hours 5 min
Toulouse $1094 11 hours 45 min
Biarritz $1262 17 hours 10 min
Pau $1165 22 hours 35...
Which town provides the best options for departing from by train to eventually get to STJPdP? They both cost about the same to fly into. On google maps Toulouse is a little farther to St Jean but not much. Would we have to get to Bayonne first to get to St Jean? If we do than it might appear...
I am coming from BC but will be flying out of Calgary, into Toulouse, then out of Madrid to head home again. Flying out of Santiago is around $800 more from what I can find right now for Madrid. Toulouse appears to be a fairly direct route to get to St Jean. Looked at options such as Paris but...
