When I walk the Camino again, for the forth time, I plan to start in Pamplona. As someone told me on my second trek, “not a day goes by when I don’t think of the Camino”. Twice I started in Roncesvalles, once in SJPP. Both were great.
The start from SJPP is a long slog, even in good weather...
Last yr I caught the bus at T4, seems like it was mid morning and got to Pamplona mid afternoon. Very easy. Met several pilgrims that I ran into along the way to Santiago. We caught a taxi to SJPDP.
Next time I do the Camino, I think I’ll start in Pamplona. That first day to Puente la Reina...
Last April I met four others on the bus from the Madrid airport to Pamplona. It made a couple of stops, but when we got to Pamplona we followed the signs to the taxi area. There was a SUV waiting. Cost us each about 25 Euros to get to the municipal alburgue in St. Jean. Worked seamlessly...
