I went from Dublin midday to marvellous Billbao with aer lingus. Guggenheim gallery etc is there.. A morning train goes from there to Sahagun by lunchtime. I walked on from there to Finistere. I found it was the most economical way to go on the second half of my Camino in 2015. Buen Camino.
Express Buorricate does a shared service for groups and is 19euro each for 4+. They usually have lots of passengers and will have you in St Jean in 1 hour. I have used the bus and train and walk to town and it all takes tedious timing and similar cost. Look aup their site. Buen Camino

Why go trough london? Ryan air fly to biarrits about 12 noon and arrives early afternoon in time for bus and Train from bayonne to sjp. Been there done that. Buen camino!

Very risky. there is no direct bus from near the Cathedral ,but a local one to the station and then another not too frequent one to airport. Bus times may not suit- Murphys law, and it is a good walk to any bus top as the old town is a pedestrian zone only. Also a long enough walk through the...
There is also a train service to Bilbao from burgos, it passes through about 2pm. check renfe. Its a comfortable scenic trip and the station in Bilbao is very central and worth visiting.
