    JFK Layover

That is not correct. All flights to the US are required to go through Immigration and Customs at airport of arrival. This is includes collecting checked bags and rechecking them after customs. Arriving at JFK will require baggage collection and rechechecking for flight to Richmond. However if...

How to get to Ponte de Lima?

You might want to look for a train. We took a train from Porto to Barcelos. Very easy and quick but I don't know if they go to Ponte de Lima

    Senior Discount Card

I have used the tarjeta dorada in Spain buying it at Atocha station at the same time as the train ticket. I used a US passport and got a 40% reduction. Well worth it since it is valid for 12 months from date of issue. For €6.00 there is not much risk.

I took this bus last September and had no problems. It is the best way to get from Santiago to Porto since the train involves changes and the connections are not good.

    Travel from Santiago to Tui

We took the Alsa bus from SdC to Valenca do Minho last September and then walked across the river to Tui. Very easy and the Fortaleza in Valenca is well worth a visit. We booked our Alsa bus tickets from the US before we left but some people bought them at the bus station on the day we ttavelled.

    I'm confused about taxi service

When I arrived at Biarritz in April there were taxis waiting at the airport. They would be available to take you to Bayonne train station which should not take more than 15 or max 20 minutes. We had plenty of time and took the bus which also only took about 15 minutes to the river and then we...
