    Camino Ingles in august

I did something close to what you are suggesting. The municipal in Presedo only has 12 beds, but if you get there early enough in the day you'd be fine. Galicia in August has milder (cooler) weather than the rest of Spain and I found it quite pleasant. The hydrangeas you will see on the route...

Weather on Camino Ingles in July? Too hot?

Being in Galicia, the nearby ocean moderates the temperatures very nicely. I walked the Inglés in early August 2019 and it was never hotter than low-80’s F (30 C). Buen Camino!

    Camino Ingles in May 2021?

If you can get from the airport to the downtown train station, there is a train from A Caruna to Ferol that we took in 2019, mostly goes along the water and is a very pretty ride.

    Three years ago...

My husband, daughter, and I have a similar picture from 2019 at that very site, with remarkably similar overcast clouds! Our camino was in August, hence the shorts. I share your prayer to return. And interestingly, it was a second Camino for hubby and me, and we brought our daughter as...

    Inglés June 2-6

We stayed at the municipal albergue. Minimal kitchen but wonderful clean friendly place, some very cool stonework. In the top floor, half the beds are singles not bunks because of the slanted ceiling.

Trip report from Ingles August 2019

I I was worried about the same thing, but there were three different groups that we crossed paths with multiple times. I think there is are a certain number of perigrinos who prefer walking 10-15 km in a day rather than 25-35. Buen Camino!

Ingles in March or Summer 2020

@knc, I just posted my trip report from this summer, I'm not forum savvy enough to post the link but it's date d today under the Ingles part of the forum. To give you some ideas...

Trip report from Ingles August 2019

Three of us walked the Ingles this summer: 2 parents in the 55-60 year old age range, and college student daughter on summer break who hadn't trained. We arranged our days for 10-15 km of walking on average, and this is where we stayed: Day 1: flew to Santiago and took the train to A Caruna...

Ingles in March or Summer 2020

If you are used to east coast US heat and humidity in the summer, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the weather in Galicia in July- rarely over 80-85 and not as humid as what you are used to. I echo others oncerns about mileage: if you are aiming for 20 miles per day, take into...

    So, why?

I missed your post when you first wrote, I think I was still in Europe on post-Camino travels. I feel grateful to have crossed paths with you (twice) while we were on the Ingles, and glad that you joined us for dinner on that very rainy day in Meson do Vento. I agree that there is always more to...

    New albergue in Betanzos

We were at the municipal albergue “Casa de Pescadería” in Betanzos just 2 weeks ago. It is beautifully renovated, with 36 beds. Some of the beds on the top floor are singles, not bunks, and perhaps worth the extra climb! The kitchen unfortunately is equipped with only a microwave for cooking.

Challenge Completed, summertime on the inglés

@Betterisgood, you must be good luck for me because the morning after we walked together, we were among the first 10 in line at the Pilgrim Office the next morning, so got free lunch at the Parador and tickets to the Porto of Glory exhibition!! Quite a wonderful Camino for me, all in all...

    It’s Crazy Busy out here!

Another update for anyone who is still following: we are in Mesón do Vento tonight at one of the hotels. It seems the bulk of the big Italian crowd came through last night, the barmaid at our hotel was still recovering today from their onslaught. Even though the weekend bubble has passed on...

    It’s Crazy Busy out here!

@kirkie, Neda was the first albergue our 20 y/o daughter stayed in, and she’s a convert! A group of Italians shared their midday meal with her when they heard she was hungry. Now she wants to stay just in albergues! We are taking a slow Camino, and with short days will be getting into towns...

New sello and food stop between Pontedeume and Miño!

We left from Pension Meson Paz outside Pontedeume, thinking there were no facilities until Miño (where we were planning to spend the night), but were delighted to find a little place at the bottom of a hill! (Just a few km before Miño) She had a sign for coffee and tea 400m ahead, and has one...

    It’s Crazy Busy out here!

I agree. And because we are doing a slow Camino (15 km per day or less), I’m hoping everyone outpaces us. I’ll post more as we go!

    It’s Crazy Busy out here!

We are in Pontedueme tonight, after starting from Ferrol yesterday on Sunday am August Aug 4. We stayed in Neda last night at the municipal albergue (28 bunks, all full, with 2 overflow in a tent outside and 2 more on couches). After our albergue mates left us in the dust (did I mention we are...

    Inglés June 2-6

@Juspassinthrough, ditto the thanks. @kirkie, when are you starting? We start from Ferrol on Aug 4th. We're bringing our daughter on break from college, and doing shorter stages (adding stops in Neda and Min~o, for example) to give her more relaxed days.

I’m hoping by now you did your Camino; any sage words for other peregrinos ? I’m heading there in August.

    Municipal Albergue at Betanzos

Good to know! We’ll be there in August!
