Hi Etienne
I combined the two Camino's two years ago-I went Santiago to Muxia, there was an early morning bus (6-30am ish) from Muxia to Acoruna and then bus to Ferrol which left me time to walk to Neda ( albergue) and them Mino albergue-Betanzos-Bruma-Sig-Santiago.
Bruma to Sig is 28/30 km but...
Hi Neil and Craig
as you can see the English is a much loved Camino,John is the expert and a wise man would heed his advice.
I have done it twice both times in 4 days.
the first time in Feb 2009 catching the same bus as you and walking to Neda in pitch blackness its a great place to stay 5...
hi Paul
I walked the English in Feb 2009,I wrote about it in my blog below and posted pictures also some pics of the acomodation on the english forum posts, the aubergues where closed but you just phone the number on the door and they are there in 10 mins-the first one at Neda 7km from Ferrol...
Hi
given the same choice I would catch the bus to Finisterre and walk the 30k to Muxia, get a stamp halfway stay in the Albergue there and catch the bus to Acoruna in the morning 7am approx.
Ian
I was there in November and the mini-bus was running,if my memory is correct it was 10 euro's and sets off from the hippy alburgue "sol" at 10am and takes just over 1 hour. The 3 1/2 hour bus journey is interesting if you have the time.
in the high season you may have to book your place on the...
Hi
one of the ways to do it would be to catch the early evening bus to Ferrol and then walk 7km to Neda aubergue or get off the bus at Neda (passport there) day 1 walk to mino aubergue day 2 to Betanzos day 3 to Bruma day 4 Sigueiro take a break and walk into Santiago 40 some K ,I'm 63 and did...
Hi I walked this way in feb 2009 it was my first Camino and it still holds special place in my heart its a great walk. The aubergue's are not manned all the time if you are the first person there ( and you will be)you have to phone the numbers on the door so a mobile is a must- between 5 and...
hey I've walked it twice and rose's writing makes even me want to walk it again,it truly is a great way. it always rained for me as it did this year from Sarria, reading Rebs blog and your account Rose it seems the trick is to walk in December either that or this sinner needs to pray a bit more...
Hi Nino
the Camino Ingles is a great walk and fits nice into a weeks walk-leaving time for other things at the end.
you asked about plans for your wife and son-not a great deal to keep a 4 year old happy in Santiago-but the beauty of the Ingles is that its conected by public transport from...
loved your post Maria an epic worthy of the Von Trapps themselves, and one I'm sure your children will remember for years to come, so different from my own wet quite Febuary walk.
thanks for bringing the memories back.
Ian
good luck Marta
and enjoy yourself, you have chosen a great Camino
if the time allows the bus station is just a short 10minute walk from the pilgrim office where you can get your credencial and save time in Ferrol
if you have time check my blog out for febuary or john who is the expert
Ian
Me and Rosie spent the night here in Febuary and it was a life saver-I LOVE the place and would recomend it to anybody.
before setting out its easy to fear the worse, but hand on heart this place was the defining moment of my first Camino, don't believe the hype, stay here with confidence,John...
Mein Gott
I hate people droning on about the weather and their ailments its so English so come on spill the beans what was it like for you lay it all out for us.
Ian and Rosie
I'm loving the way our names have become a euphemism for how bad the rain is, we walked 10k in the rain this morning and embraced it like an old friend :D
John is right a wet camino is better than no camino, our camino was enhanced in a lot of ways by the rain-the hot showers at the end of...
great advice from all of the above, one last tip from us.turn left out of the airport the ryan-air bus is extreme left.
having just spent a week settling my mother into a care home in Bradford where some of the carers are her ex school pupils (weird or what) and attempting to clear out our...
hi john
yes the detour is obvious and there is a small hand painted sign saying road closed in 300m,we just didn't believe it and foolishly tried to scramble round the 6ft high fenced off area which we discovered is a vast hole dug into the side of the slopped ground with a giant crane in the...
