    Unfortunately, not bringing a phone is not an option. Can anyone tell me what the most reasonable way is to call or send pictures back to the USA might be. I plan on bringing my iPhone and maybe even my iPad mini. Buen Camino!

    Thanks Sabbott, After reading all the posts i finally went to REI and bought my pack. I choose a 50 Atmos. I tried on just about every pack they had and in the end i agree. There are lighter packs like the expos, but the waist belt wasn't comfortable. I figure I'm going to be wearing this thing...

    I am shopping for a backpack for my april trip. I have been looking at the osprey lite weights. The 58 lt and 48lt basically are the same weight. 2.4 and 2.8 lbs. Is there a disadvantage of buying a larger pack?
