On my first C I wore Vasques and continue to enjoy the boots. I can see why the OP found them challenging: mine took some breaking in, and I needed to dress an inside seam to prevent a blister. Overall they served me well, and each time I don my boots I receive a pleasant Camino shiver.
I always use unlined Moleskins which I post home as I go. But, lying here on my bed in a Nájera albergue, I confess I had great intentions of filling reams of notebooks on the CF, but have only made a few notes. After showering, laundry, cooking/eating and Mass/prayer, I haven't found lotsa time...
I want to include some Spanish language prep in my pre-Camino. Any reccos of iPhone apps?
FYI, I speak some Canadian French and took two years of high school Spanish back when 'los dinosaurios' ruled the earth. But now "soy" to me is a beverage not a conjugation of the verb "Ser"....
