Hi Don,I'm guessing the Cotswold Way is mostly off road,I didn't think weight would be an issue, but we're not designed to pound pavements for any length of time,
My next Camino will be on a push bike,so weight shouldn't be an issue,
Enjoy the Cotswold Way,in Scotland we can't go more than five...
I was only cought out once, the Camino likes to go through the "old town" ,and I'd been to the Correos in Sarria to post excess luggage in my rucksack, and forgot I needed cash, anyway I was saved by my Camino angel,I spent the night with a 79 year old American lady,!
Hi Marie, I was thinking that, good to meet you virtually , enjoy your camino, you'll love it,
I've been looking at flights, the camino gets a bit addictive !
Bill
Hi Mary Doll, probably about right, but not always guaranteed to warm any time of year .
Think you might be the only Ayrshire pilgrim , though bound to be more after i write this :)
Bill,
So many pilgrims order cafe con leche, that at least once on a camino I'll get cafe con leche, even though I've asked for an Americano, the size of cup when buying coffee out is never as small as in Spain or Portugal.
Bill
Yes very upbeat, especially walking so long in the rain, and previously with blisters,
I get enough rain in Scotland without having to look for Spanish or Portuguese rain, although around Tomar we had torrential but warm rain, when an umbrella came in handy :)

Thanks, Jill was hoping to keep my pack down to the 3kg I finished with last year, after posting 2.85kg on from Sarria to Santiago, took me almost three weeks to lessen my load ! but glad of a bit more in rainy Gallicia,
Choices .
Probably been covered elsewhere,
Sleeping bag and waterproof trousers, starting from Lisboa 19th Sept for three weeks. ?
Needed them on the Primitivo in April this year, but didn't on the French way last August, any thoughts ?
Cheers Bill
Maybe see you along the way , on the countdown, fly out three weeks tomorrow, Debating a long sleeve shirt or arm warmers, I did wear these, even when it was over 30'c at it's warmest it got down to 6'c with a wind blowing in August on the meseta,
Bill
Slightly jealous holhum, ,always on the look out for somewhere subtropical to retire .Especially, about March time , after a winter in cold and dark weather,
Bill,
ps I have been caught out twice when hillwalking in the "summer " in Scotland, by either not putting on layers soon enough, or...
Good points, there Dave, the desert dwellers tended to walk at night using the stars to guide them, and rest up during the day, ( mad dogs and English men !) go out in the mid-day sun , don't think I'll have to start walking at 5am in April on the Primitivo to avoid the heat,
