    I did it the other way round this year. I set up my home contract with an e-sim and purchased a physical sim in Spain for data - Simyo. I got a large amount of data (can’t remember actual amount, but more than enough to post to blog for four weeks) which cost around €10.

    Merino leg warmers?

    I use merino tights. They can be worn under walking shorts, with s skirt in the evening, as leggings and for sleeping in colder weather. Very versatile and lightweight. I would think leg warmers would be less useful, although easier to remove when walking.

    It may be worth keeping in mind that your legs may need protection from the sun rather than the cold. I am considering just taking shorts and leggings this year (April/May camino) but am a little concerned that the leggings will be too hot some days and the shorts won't provide any protection...

    I doubt you will be able to save on all three - I managed to save on the first two with a Mont Bell spiral down thermal sheet weighing 430 grams, but alas it was the most expensive item in my pack. I purchased mine from the UK, but the above link will take you to a US site where it costs $194.
