Boxer shorts - any recommendations
I got a three pack of Danish Endurance sport boxer shorts (these ones, to be precise) before doing the Frances last year, and had absolutely no sweat, chafing etc problems with them. Are waterproof hiking shoes a good idea?
I've now done two Caminos (Frances/Finisterre and Primitivo) in waterproof lightweight Merrell boots and had a grand total of two blisters on them. I guess the rest of my body is too busy sweating for my feet to do it! :) But unless you're going for full rubber gaiters, then nothing is going...- Nick Barlow

Waterproof trail shoes. Yes or no?
I'd say if you've got a pair of boots/shoes you're already comfortable walking long distances in, then stick with those. I saw people walking the Frances in just about everything last year, and I think it's a case of finding what you're comfortable walking in and sticking with that. I took three pairs of Danish Endurance socks on the Frances with me last year, and I had only two blisters in that time (both on the top of my toe, and the second caused by taping the remains of the first one too tightly on the descent into Molinaseca!) Merrel MOABs
Currently resting after day 3 of my Camino and have been wearing Merrell Accentor Mid boots which have been amazing so far. I've got a pair of Moab boots at home which I like for walking, especially on hills, but these have been really light and my feet feel good so far.- Nick Barlow
