Good addition to a baseball cap

Terri! Where are you in this umbrella discussion?! You are the Umbrella Queen

Good addition to a baseball cap

You know, the id still has our sons and daughters firmly in its grip. So, if they can’t imagine something looking cool on you- discussion over! That’s why I don’t ask for permission, only for forgiveness

Another question from Marska ... sorry all!

    Or exactly what @cindyjo said😂

Another question from Marska ... sorry all!

I lose things too…glasses that hang around your neck are not everyone’s style choice, but I never lose them, nor ever worry about where they might be!

Another question from Marska ... sorry all!

The other reason I like a baseball cap is that you can put a small towel or poly pro type garment underneath and drape it back over you neck, legionnaire style, for extra sun protection. By having multiple purposes for items, you can eliminate the need for the perfect hat, for instance.😁

How do you wear a hat with a backpack?

I like to repurpose items that I already have in my pack to solve the problem. Take a lightweight undershirt, or similar item, and place it on your head draped over your neck. Then put a baseball cap on top and you have a poor man’s legionnaire cap. Et Voilà !

Osprey Farpoint 40L Travel Pack Comfort Level

I have used the Farpoint40 on my last 2 Caminos (Primitivo and comb0 Frances/Del Norte since 2019. It was fine for me on the Primitivo in 2019, but I don't think the shoulder attachments bring the pack far enough forward. I had to put spacers between the front straps and my chest to rig it...

Things I'd bring, who cares about the weight

Perhaps I should have given some indication that my tongue was firmly in my cheek 😆

Things I'd bring, who cares about the weight

Is the coffee substandard? Or not available (perhaps on some routes lacking infrastructure). There is some excellent coffee available to bring…

Shoes for wide feet, want to avoid problems with zero drop shoes

The Keens run wide …and are on the list for fat footers. Merrill’s are also available in wide sizes and both brands are durable. I like the low rise models and don’t strategize water proof version’s anymore either. Better to just dry them overnight , and focus on other important factors

Sleeping bag needed if staying in hotels rather than alberques?

Yes, pillows-can suck. I always bring a pillow case to stuff with dirty clothes. This separates clean from dirty in your pack and can be repurposed as a pillow(but with clean clothing).

Trail runners: Altra or Brooks, or Hoka????

With no disrespect to any of the above posts, this is when I miss Dave Bugg the most. I don’t know why or where he went, but I would like to thank him for all the well researched, helpful advice over the years. And wish him all the best!

    Osprey Backpacks are awesome!

As in, “silence on the criticism front of Osprey packs”. They are well made and backed for a lifetime👍

    Luxury items

I brought a rather heavyweight pair of jeans...not a rational move. My pack was 23 lbs., but I got used to it. And, every cold day I wore them, every chilly evening they felt so warm and substantial. It was a conversation piece as well. People were flabbergasted that I could get them washed and...

If You have Walked the Camino - Do you prefer boots or trail runners?

I am going to find a replacement word for “recently”

If You have Walked the Camino - Do you prefer boots or trail runners?

Isn’t interesting to note how people see things. Reminds me of something I recently missed....we had planted a tree for a beloved minister who had died recently. I went to check that the leaves looked healthy and to water it etc. The same day my cousin sent me a photo of bark having been rubbed...

If You have Walked the Camino - Do you prefer boots or trail runners?

Boots on the first Camino (Francés) and switched to shoe version of hiking boots on the Primitivo, recently. It was a happy conversion, and I wear them daily in my work now!
