Turn your phone onto Airline mode and never take it off, is what I say. Fellow Canadian here and I know the roaming rates are outrageous. On one trip, I ensured I was on the hotel's wifi, took it off airplane mode for half an hour and BOOM! Nice charges on my next bill. Anyhow, take an old phone...
Great tip here. We are leaving in 6 days, starting our Camino from SJPP April 15. My pack is 3.5 lbs heavier than I want it. Question: What do you clean your shoes with daily? I have this (which doubles as a shoe horn...just realized that after 25 years of owing the thing) and realize it is...
Ya, I bought a cheap charger for the car so I could charge my phone in the car. Threw it out after the first partial charge because it made my phone so hot I thought it was going to explode.
Thank you. Would this work? http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/adreama-adreama-travel-adapter-with-2-usb-ports-adadptrusbblk-black-adadptrusbblk/10340561.aspx?
I have an iPhone 4S and an iPad mini (several years old) - Do I have to order a European adapter/USB plug from Amazon (I leave in 2 weeks) or can I just buy one at Gatwick or in Bordeaux (where I will be before SJPP)?
For women in their late 40s/early 50s, this is an excellent bag. Sometimes we sleep very hot and other times, not. This bag is a light sleeping bag on one side and a liner on the other. Two bags in one. Perfect :)
I just calculated Canada Post from Vancouver, BC to the Netherlands for this bag (12" x 6" x 6", 1.5 lbs) and it is $100 Canadian, so MEC's estimate of 50 Euros for shipping is probably pretty spot on (I was thinking I could purchase & send to you cheaper, but no.)
We bought these (and they are on sale right now) and they're fabulously small and lightweight. Shipping anything to Europe from Canada is quite expensive, unfortunately. Their website does say "This item ships for free"... to ? Perhaps you could challenge that...
Try wearing a thin pair of polypro (polypropylene) socks underneath. They wick moisture away from your skin and put a barrier between your skin and itchy wool.
Hi Aimee...Did you end up buying the Macabi Skirt? If so, did you experience any chafing or did you always wear leggings under it? Just wondering. Thanks, SanJo
