    Don't buy a backpack!

Sorry for the bump but I figure the regulars would appreciate that than me creating a new one. Great post. My daughters bought me the Osprey Talon 44 they saw me try on at a store. That was 2 years ago and due to the Pandemic and other life events, I finally get to go this year. I know now...

Hoka Shoe Owners: Speedgoat 5 or the Bondi 8?

Funny thing about me posting this but after finally getting to a really nice shoe store, I ended up getting a pair of Brooks haha.

    Hiking poles vs staff

Robo, I have a question. I occasionally get bad cases of tendonitis in my arm (Good ol Tennis Elbow) the amount of pressure you mentioned to push yourself up the hill makes me worry that it might cause me some issues. What do you think? Can you "feel it" in your forearms when using them?

Hoka Shoe Owners: Speedgoat 5 or the Bondi 8?

I don’t think so but and for regular walking I think they would be fine. I might just be paranoid anoth blisters and decided to try out the Olympus:

Hoka Shoe Owners: Speedgoat 5 or the Bondi 8?

I totally lied about my last shoe conversation haha. I wore the Speedgoat 5s for a few days and returned them thinking the wide would be fine. I still decided I didn't like the toe box so I'm searching for some Altra Olympus now. I liked everything about the Lone Peaks but the thickness of the...

Hoka Shoe Owners: Speedgoat 5 or the Bondi 8?

I have some Altras but the Hokas feel better on my feet. It's all personal preference of course.

Hoka Shoe Owners: Speedgoat 5 or the Bondi 8?

Okay i think you're right. I think I'll stick with the Speedgoats due to the Megagrip soles. It doesn't look like the Bondis have it

Hoka Shoe Owners: Speedgoat 5 or the Bondi 8?

Speedgoats have been my favorite so far. Haven't worn the Bondi's. They have more cushion so that's probably one factor. I'll double check about the megagrip soles. Good point.

Practiced with some gear at Walt Disney World...

That's my plan. I'll just keep using the Lone Peaks I have for training. Then a few weeks prior I'll switch to the Olympus. I will try them on and make sure I like them first but just limit the miles on them!

Practiced with some gear at Walt Disney World...

My 14 yr old daughter had her Make a Wish trip last week at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. She has adjusted well to her new medication and lifestyle after her cardiac arrest 18 months ago. (She has a rare genetic heart condition called Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular...

People with Altra Lone Peak shoes

Yeah I wish I had bought those the first time. I was just going by recommendations. I'm out in a rural area with no outdoor stores in less than 90 minutes away. With a full time job, marriage , kids and way too many animals, just didn't have the time to go somewhere to try or. Or I was being...
