On Mi Band 5 now but I used a Fitbit Charge 3 for my Camino Mosel in Germany back in 2019.
What struck me was the data I got for Camino daily.
1. Around 23k-41k steps (17-32 km)
2. With the 1.8k-3.1 thousand calories (excluding the basal metabolic calories)
3. With the Fitbit barometer sensor I...
For me, the question to ask is:
1. How much rain is expected during the time I will be walking the Camino.
2. How much time is needed to don the raingear and also get out of it. Too long and the rain may stop by the time the gears are worn.
3. How comfortable is it? Breathable material? etc.
4...
Are you walking to Spain? If so then here's a surprise. Most Portuguese sim card won't work in Spain despite the fact that there are supposed to work in all EU countries. On a flip side they cost about half what you pay in Spain.
I got to the first town in Spain after the border crossing and...
Only experience in just one country at a time so I just get a local sim when I am there.
For esim I just Google it and this came up. Maybe you want to have a go at it.

Came across this article. Taking out the tent and such and it fits quite well for a Camino. What was interesting was the counterintuitive part about packing the lighter stuff at the bottom and the heavier on top.

It seems that I...
Have not used it but try this....
https://mygeodata.cloud/converter/kml-to-gpx
I did use this site to convert from gpx to kml since I use maps.me for my caminos and they only support kml.
Good luck...
I would like to know too if the free roaming between European countries would work between France and Spain.
My experience with Portugal is the same as Kanga. The moment I crossed over to Spain on the Camino Portuguese it stopped working. I have to get another prepaid SIM in Spain. The SIM card...
You are better off getting an inexpensive smartphone and than an inexpensive camera. You will be surprised what you can get for around a 100-150 euros, a camera probably cost more.
Plus you can use when you are home. If you are from the US then hopefully it's AT&T.
You really don't want to take pictures with a tablet outdoors. A smartphone and good pair of glasses would be better. Also, not sure if your tablet supports a SIM (not many tablets do).
Besides Camino Frances, you have hunt for wifi hotspot and a local SIM card on the phone will provide the...
When you say "GPS coordinate tracker feature", do you mean the actual GPS coordinate numbers? Maps.me is popular not just for offline maps but also it's ability to load kml overlay. They are many sources around the internet and once you email yourself the kml overlay attachment the Maps.me app...
If you are starting from Porto it would be are fine.
I did CP this April and 2 days before Porto I got hit with tendon issues on my left foot (heel). Managed to finished the Camino (slowly). I was walking with hiking shoes (ditched my trail shoes after the first day due to the heavy rain in...
If you are landing in Madrid and have to go to Pamplona/Burgos to start your camino then you have to take either the train or bus there. A good place to get the data sim will be either the train or bus station. In the past few years I've gotten mine from Atocha station (Madrid), Avenida de...
Depends on what you need the tablet for?
I have resisted carrying a tablet (bulky and heavy) and so far the smartphone works much better, best if it's 5.5 inch.
Alarm, camera, offline maps (MAPS.ME) with local SIM/GPS and route overlay so I won't get lost and if I stray off, able to get back to...
For CF 1 liter is enough. For other caminos like via de la Plata, better to carry more, especially if one can't refill along the way. If one includes lunch outside with sandwiches or bread then more water is necessary.
I take 1.5 liter. 1 liter bottle in the side of the backpack and 500/600 ml...
