Because your spare pair won't help you to see the distant views, and your prescription isn't common those are reasons enough to bring a spare that works for the whole camino.
I also have an uncommon prescription and always travel with a spare pair of glasses, even on an over night trip.

The handiest thing you are already going to carry would be your backpack. I don't see why, with a little extra organization, you couldn't use that under your mattress.
Definitely not erythema nodosum I still get flare ups occassionaly and it sounds nothing like it, or at least like how I have experienced. Also, being from Canada and growing up with allergic reactions to mosquitoes I doubt that is it either. I have never experienced bed bugs before so...
