‘Shadows, Shells and Spain’ is the latest book from Canadian Pilgrim John Meyer.

It’s about walking the Camino and the history behind it and the places you pass along the way, but it’s also about love and pain and finding your way out the other side and humour and all of that good stuff.

He shares his Camino story in my latest interview, please enjoy & share!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Thats great, I will tell John you enjoyed the book! :) Did you recognise any of the characters from your own Camino experience??

Yes, to some degree. However the main character (Jamie) was in a much different state of mind than I was so his perceptions of the little towns and stores and customs and people and experiences tended to be monochromatic where my experience was that of vibrant full living color. I'm sure the author intended it this way to be consistent with Jamie's state of mind...completely self absorbed with only one exception. So the essence of the Camino Jamie experienced was a bit unfamiliar to me but I liked the story the author wrote and how he skillfully integrated the story into the route and timeline of a Camino experience.
