Hello Everyone:

My niece and a friend are considering doing a section of the Camino Frances in late spring/early summer. They were asking me for advice on which section to walk, but since I have not actually walked the CF, I thought I would turn to the Forum members. (I apologize, as I know that this question has probably been asked many, many times before, and I did look back at some of the earlier threads, but there is so much information there, it is a bit difficult to pull it all together). From what I know, I tentatively suggested SJPdP to Burgos, but I am sure that there will be other good suggestions as well.

They are about 30 years old, in reasonably good shape, with no burning desire to arrive in SdC or receive a Compostela. I would think access to and from the Camino would be relevant.

Any suggestions are greatly welcome, and thanks in advance!

Yes, Leon to Santiago is a great section. You get a bit of the famed Meseta, a hike over a couple largish mountains, and across Galicia, which is beautiful.

I know that they aren't necessarily interested in reaching Santiago, but one of the things I really enjoyed by getting to Santiago was the sense of completion - and - being able to "complete" the journey with the people that I met along the way. I met some amazing people and to be able to see some of them to the end was incredible.

If getting to Santiago isn't such a big priority, I'd recommend starting in SJPDP and hiking the mountains. They'll be walking with other people who are just starting out, and the energy/comradery in Roncesvalles is amazing. The people are the best part!
