Hello. Just checking exactly when this was I am planning to head out on 12th march 2017 and want to take napoleon route

That route is closed, no exceptions, from November to March inclusive. You will have to take the alternative via Valcarlos. Buen Camino, SY

SY - is the route closed from 1st Nov to 1st March (or 31st March). It's not going to matter to me - I start on 1st May but there may be others planing earlier starts. Cheers

Pilgrims should keep in mind that SIPP to Roncesvalles is a VERY CHALLENGING MOUNTAIN STAGE with a great difference in elevation ,steep sections and ,depending on weather conditions ,poor visibility impairing ability to get some sense of direction.
The fact that is often the first stage makes it even more dangerous for unfitted persons....
