2 nights in Burgos

I would like to stay two nights in Burgos while walking the Camino. If I stay one night in Albergue Emmaus would i be allowed stay my second night in the municipal albergue?

When we took rest days, we stayed in hotels both nights - hotels don't have to be expensive, but will feel like luxury after alberques

Hostel Burgos was nice and allows you to stay several days since it is private. Right next to bus station and two blocks from Cathedral.

For a comfortable old fashioned hotel the Norte y
Londres can't be beat. Since 1904 staying there has been similar to a pleasant private club; all is comfy, gracious and very relaxed.

Does this rule apply if I move Albergue? So if I sat in Emmaus the first night can I stay in he municipal on the second night?

The one night rule tends to apply most at municipal albergues, private ones can make their own policy. But if you move to a different albergue you should have no problem. Just keep in mind that there'll probably be quite a few hours gap between one kicking you and the other letting you in.

Yes you can. But again I agree with the advice of others. Stay in the municipal the first night. The next day there are lots of nice and inexpensive or expensive (depending on your budget) places to stay. Go over and leave your backpack. Have a nice leisurely breakfast. Walk around, check in, take a shower, take a nap, go eat, walk around, take a shower, take a nap, walk around, go eat go to bed. hahaha. That's what I do. No stress, slow walking and relax.

I also stayed at Hotel Norte it was one of my favorites on the Camino. Lovely room with old world charm without being stuffy. Great bathtub, and a little glass enclosed balcony. I’ll definetly stay there again in Sept.

I'm another fan of Hotel Norte y Londres. I stayed there in 2017 and 2018 and for me, it's perfect. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms all have bathtubs and the breakfast buffet is really delicious. The breakfast room itself is delightful. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. I'll be back there in June with my family on our camino - 'can't wait! Phone the hotel direct and ask for the pilgrim discount.

Everyone who wants to stay there is told that they cannot stay there if they have spent the previous night in an albergue in Burgos. It is pretty easy to check in the credencial. I don't know about other albergues.

The municipal has a storage closet where you can leave your bag, as long as you leave it until they reopen in the afternoon, about 1:00.

They are strict on the one night only rule, but perhaps you can contact them and ask.

We’ve stayed at Emmaus - we loved its peace, quiet & tranquility...... there is someone praying in the associated chapel 24/7. They have had the roster for this going for about the last 8 yrs.

The next morning we walked “backwards” to visit the Cartuja de Santa Maria de Miraflores monastery before walking to the cathedral.

That night we stayed at the Divina Pastora
albergue which is right in the middle of Burgos. The next day, after setting in out in the cold, I discovered I’d left my lovely woolly hat in the chapel below - unfortunately it was all locked up ..... I hope someone is getting good use from it

It looks like you may not have walked in a while. I think it is changing some with private albergues. I think many will allow you to stay 2 nights if you choose. When it comes to the Municipals and Monastarios and donatives I think your advice is still 100% accurate.

I don't know the technical answer, but arriving at emmaus, I was asked if this was my first night in burgos, with the intent that it wasn't intended to provide multiple nights in burgos.

I stayed at the Hotel Norte y Londres as well. Great bath so I soaked every night and washed my clothes. Downside no wifi in rooms, you have to go downstairs and use it in the lobby. Breakfast is expensive but then there are lots of cheaper options around. Great location. If you book online and stay two nights there is a discount.
